The Opportunity
The Insights and Analytics Unit (IAU) at UniSC plays a critical role in managing institutional data, delivering performance reporting, and providing strategic insights that support the University’s decision-making and planning. The Unit leads initiatives across data governance, analytics, business intelligence, and institutional research to drive efficiency and improve organisational outcomes.
As Manager, Performance Analysis, you will lead the delivery of enterprise-level quantitative performance analysis and forecasting to inform the University’s strategic priorities. You will oversee a specialist team, work closely with senior stakeholders, and develop innovative analytical solutions that enhance organisational effectiveness and support evidence-based decision-making.
This role offers the opportunity to shape and influence how data is used to support strategic planning and performance improvement across the University. You will work in close partnership with academic and professional areas to understand their analytical needs, deliver high-quality reporting, and contribute to the development of a data-informed culture. Your ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights will be key to supporting the University’s long-term goals.
You Will:
- lead the development and delivery of performance analysis and planning aligned to strategic initiatives and institutional priorities;
- manage a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team to deliver actionable insights that support improved decision-making and organisational performance;
- design and implement innovative analytical solutions that drive efficiency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement across the University; and
- collaborate with senior academic and operational stakeholders to understand analytical needs and deliver high-quality reporting and forecasting that supports strategic planning.
About You
You are a strategic and analytically minded professional with a passion for transforming data into actionable insights. With a strong background in performance analysis, planning, or institutional research, you bring a deep understanding of how data can drive organisational improvement and support strategic decision-making. You are comfortable working with complexity, thrive in dynamic environments, and are committed to delivering high-quality outcomes that align with institutional goals.
You are a collaborative leader who builds strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. You communicate complex ideas clearly, lead with curiosity and innovation, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Your ability to manage competing priorities, mentor high-performing teams, and deliver impactful analysis ensures you are a trusted partner in advancing the University’s strategic objectives.
You Will Possess:
- A relevant undergraduate qualification as a minimum and extensive relevant expertise and experience, or an equivalent combination of knowledge, training, and experience;
- Advanced analytical skills with extensive experience in a large and complex, commercial or fast-paced environment;
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team toward innovative, high-quality results;
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues to diverse audiences;
- Proven ability to apply creative and innovative thinking to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and business outcomes;
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver end-to-end analytical projects; and
- A strong understanding of the higher education sector, or the ability to apply relevant experience to meet sector-specific performance analysis and quality assurance requirements.
