Are you passionate about using data to make a real difference in people's lives? Baptcare is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing Data & Analytics team in Melbourne. You'll play a key role in building robust data solutions that support our mission to provide exceptional care and services to the community.

About The Opportunity

In this full-time max term contract position, you'll design, develop, and maintain scalable data infrastructure that enables evidence-based decision making across our organisation. Working collaboratively with analysts, developers, and stakeholders, you'll help transform how we use data to enhance the lives of those we serve.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines and ETL processes
• Build and optimise data warehouses and data lakes
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements
• Mentor junior team members and share technical knowledge
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot data issues

What We're Looking For

• Strong experience with SQL, Python, and cloud platforms (preferably Azure)
• Expertise in data warehousing concepts and modern data architecture
• Experience with tools like Apache Spark, Databricks, or similar technologies
• Understanding of data governance and quality frameworks
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
