Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a dedicated and driven Human Resources Analyst, Senior to serve as the agency’s Benefits and Retirement Lead. In this pivotal role, you will ensure accurate and compliant leave management, provide guidance to HR Liaisons and Business Partners on reporting and tracking all types of employee leave, and support staff throughout the benefits and retirement process.

The successful candidate will demonstrate integrity under pressure, exceptional attention to detail, and strong skills in data tracking and reporting, while delivering outstanding customer service. This position requires efficiency, accuracy, and the ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties:

- Monitors and reviews reports of all leave types by Business Partners and HR Liaisons to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency with organizational policies and legal requirements
- Facilitates communication and coordinates to ensure timely and accurate handling of leave cases
- Ensures that all leave processes align with relevant organizational policies, federal and state regulations, and best practices, including compliance with FMLA, military leave regulations, and disability policies
- Supports the HR Operations Benefits and Retirement unit as a lead
- Provides guidance and training to HR Liaisons on leave management protocols, ensures they are equipped to handle leave reporting accurately and in compliance with all applicable policies and procedures
- Reviews leave management processes and collaborates with HR Leadership to recommend and implement improvements for increased efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
- Works closely with Payroll to confirm that leave entries and adjustments are accurately reflected in payroll processing
- Avoids discrepancies and ensures proper handling of leave-related pay adjustments
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
- Arizona Department of Administration Personnel Rules, Leave-related laws and regulations, including FMLA, and a commitment to policy compliance
- Information gathering
- Human Resources practices and procedures
- Research and statistical techniques
- General understanding of various employee leave
- Google and Microsoft Office

Selective Preference(s):

- Minimum two (2) years of experience in Human Resources, leave management, or a related field, with a strong understanding of FMLA, industrial leave, military leave, paid parental leave

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).

Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
