Closing Sanitation (Shift: 10:00AM-close)

Description

Objective

Maintain and control all aspects of the facility. Responsible for keeping all facility clean.

Organizational Relationships

Reports directly to Quality Assurance Department. Report indirectly to Plant Supervision.

Primary Job Duties

1. Remove all boxes/combos and trash to compactor and bale combos.
2. Remove trash, blood spill, and debris from coolers, freezer, WIP, and dock areas.
3. Change sanitizer lugs every two hours or as needed.
4. Condensation walk through; wiping down any condensation during shift or upon request of QA (this includes cold storage).
5. The entrance to the freezer needs to be cleared of any frost/ice.
6. Handle all inedible functions (disposal, rinsing, cleaning inedible area, smell, etc. All gray barrels will need denaturant application).
7. Assist Quality Assurance Technicians on dispensing PPE at beginning of the shift and after each break.
8. Check and refill any soap dispensers, paper towels, or toilet paper.
9. Check restrooms and breakroom for cleanliness—pick-up debris and wipe counters or any other spills.
10. All outside areas (parking lots and bale area) will be checked for cleanliness and clean as needed (area washdown, removal of pallets, trash, metal fragments, etc.). All outside trash cans will be checked and emptied if needed (this includes cigarette buckets).

Before the end of the shift

1. Move bales of cardboard combos to correct location.
2. First shift will not leave until informing the second shift of any unfinished projects that must be completed.
3. Second shift will not leave until production is finished and all job requirements are completed you must check with QA before punching out
4. Walk through all areas of production and storage: any inedible from lugs or barrels, all plastic and other trash must be removed if needed.
5. Remove soiled PPE to their proper location for laundering.

Requirements

Position Pre-Requisites

High school diploma or GED equivalent with previous experience in sanitation.

Skill Requirements

Able to follow instructions and operate all Sanitation equipment and Production equipment if required.

Physical Requirements

Able to lift up to 80 lb. & remain standing and/or walking for extended periods.

Working Conditions

Able to be in a 30º - 40º environment for extended periods.
