Description
Stephenson Equipment, Inc (SEI), an industry leader in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and New York providing sales, rentals, parts and service for construction equipment, cranes, paving, road building and road maintenance equipment, has an immediate need for Branch Manager in our Middle River, MD location.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures to support the performance and leadership of SEI’s Operations including, but not limited to, Dealership Operations, Branches, Parts, Service, Safety and Human Resources.
- Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth; execution of SEI Strategic Plans.
- Perfect and implement an agreed upon financial model leading to best-in-class performance in all Operations Departments focusing on dealership absorption.
- Nurture a culture for employees of achievement, respect, skill, opportunity, appreciation, and safety.
- Maintain a culture of partnership with the customer that yield respect, alignment, and deep collaboration that leads to long-lasting and preferred relationships.
- Work, in collaboration with HR Director to ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management and retention developing an overall SEI Employment Lifecycle plan.
- Partner with Branch Managers to ensure each branch has appropriate staffing and a strategic staffing plan.
- Develop, present, and implement a comprehensive service sales program for Crane, CE, and Public Works segments that significantly increases the amount of sold labor and changes service department behaviors to emphasize service sales.
- Train and develop the various operations departments to ensure consistent best practices in areas such as safety, customer service, discounting, understanding our financial model, etc.
- Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
- Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.).
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
The best fit to our team will have:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A relevant graduate degree is preferred such as a Masters of Business Administration, Technology, Management, Accounting, etc.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Functions in a temperature-controlled office environment a majority of the time. Work requires the ability to sit and stand throughout an extended workday (8-10 hours); position requires use of fingers, hands and arms on a consistent basis for keyboarding and phone work; position requires the ability to talk and hear; position may need to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion; excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required. The standard office environment has moderate noise levels associated with computer equipment, customers, and phone conversations.
