Description
Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the Senior Human Resources Director exercises a high level of responsibility to collaborate with cross-functional leadership teams, leads project planning and project execution, and contributes to the overall success of our HR function. The SR. HR Director will take on leadership responsibilities in absence of the CHRO. The Sr. HR Director oversees the recruitment and benefits division and the talent acquisition division as well as provides leadership and support to the employee relations team, serving also as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for Salud’s leadership management team.

Duties And Responsibilities
Human Resources:
- Oversee the operations and use of HRIS for accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Organize, create, and maintain standard operating procedures, including system and process documentation.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Salud’s management team on Human Resources, employee/labor relations, benefits administration, leave of absence, workers compensation, and recruitment.
- Collaborate with the HR team and Salud management to establish clear, effective lines of communication through the organization to keep all employees well informed regarding Human Resource matters and policies.
- Participate on Salud Committees as determined by the CHRO.
- Collaborate with Salud leadership management to develop, educate, and enforce HR policies and procedures.
- Monitor the effectiveness of training initiates through employee feedback data and recommend changes to HR programs as needed.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
Employee Relations
In partnership with the Director of Employee Relations:
- Support the Employee Relations team and serve as the subject matter expert.
- Advise and support the Employee Relations team on complex employee/labor related matters requiring critical decision-making.
- Partner with the Director of Employee Relations and Salud management to resolve employee related matters and grievances.
- In collaboration with the Director of Employee Relations, advise management regarding compliance with State and Federal laws governing employee/labor relations.
- Advise on and/or arbitrate terminations and serious disciplinary actions and make recommendations to management based on researched information.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, collective bargaining agreement, and internal policies using a continuous research and application of ever-changing rules and legislation.
- Collaborate with the department management team and union officials to develop, apply, and interpret labor relations policies and practices; monitors implementation of policies concerning wages/hour laws ensuring labor contract and government regulatory compliance.
Benefits Administration:
- Supervise the Benefits Administration team and serve as subject matter expert.
- Oversee benefit programs, working in partnership with the CHRO to recommend and implement strategies and programs to ensure the organization’s competitive edge while controlling costs.
- Develop employee communications for open enrollment, renewal changes, enrollment procedures, benefit changes and/or clarifications.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the Worker’s Compensation program.
- Manage benefits administration, leave of absence, workers’ compensation, and unemployment claims effectively.
- Scale and streamline the administration of benefits plans and programs to ensure efficient operations while keeping the employees’ experience front and center.
- As needed, prepare materials needed for client meetings. Educate, advice, and aid clients on all compliance topics, including, but not limited to, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s and Health Care Reform.
Talent Acquisition:
- Build and lead a high-performing recruiting team and serve as subject matter expert.
- Oversee employment/recruitment programs to ensure high quality staff, diversity, and compliance with state staffing ratios.
- Develop and implement scalable recruiting strategies aligned with Salud’s goals
- Partner with management to understand hiring needs and deliver strong candidates
- Collaborate with the recruitment team and management team to ensure Salud’s job descriptions are updated and relevant.
- Optimize recruiting processes to improve efficiency, candidate experience, and quality of hire
Knowledge Of:
- In-depth knowledge of HR and labor relations principles, practices, and employment laws
- Familiarity with current HR trends, best practices, and emerging technologies
- Knowledge of recruitment and benefits administration principles and processes
- Proficient in using HR software and systems for record keeping and reporting

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field (or 10 years equivalent work experience in lieu of college degree). Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive Manager experience, preferably in healthcare.
- 5+ years of work experience in a unionized work environment required.
- Strong knowledge of HR processes, policies, and best practices.
Physical Demands:

- Mobility: The ability to move independently within an office environment and travel as required to various locations, including satellite offices, job fairs, conferences, and training sessions.
- Manual dexterity: Proficient use of a computer, including typing, data entry, and operating various software applications.
- Visual acuity: Sufficient vision to read and analyze documents, reports, and other written materials, as well as view computer screens and conduct presentations.
- Hearing: Ability to hear and understand verbal communications, including conversations, phone calls, and meetings.
- Speaking: Clear and effective verbal communication skills for conducting presentations, participating in meetings, and providing guidance to employees.
- Standing and sitting: Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during meetings, presentations, and working at a desk.
- Flexibility: Adaptability to changing work demands, including the ability to work long hours, evenings, or weekends as necessary.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: $142,301.55 - $172,968.42
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Location: In-person
Benefits: available to all regular Salud employees working 24+ hours per week. Part-time employees may receive some benefits on a pro-rated basis.
