About This Role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Securities Research Senior Manager
In This Role, You Will:
- Work with an industry-leading Sell Side Equity Research team
- Provide strategic and operational leadership, including oversight of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks within the research function
- Collaborate closely with the US Senior Analyst on key Research deliverables
- Significant opportunities to learn, lead, and contribute as an integral member of the CIB Business teams
Managerial Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior analysts and manage performance reviews
- Strategic Oversight: Shape and execute team strategy in alignment with broader business goals, including coverage expansion, thematic focus, and client engagement.
- Governance: Driving governance and leadership across four key pillars: AI & Automation, Learning & Development (L&D), Risk & Compliance, and Employee Engagement.
- Risk Management & Compliance Adherence: Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate operational risks in research processes, with strong adherence to internal governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and compliance protocols.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key liaison with global stakeholders, including compliance, legal, and Senior Research Management
- Driving AI adoption across the team to enhance research workflows, improve efficiency, and support innovation in analytical approaches
- Cross-Functional Contribution: Actively contribute to initiatives across the CIB Business Teams, supporting broader strategic and operational goals
Individual Contributor Responsibilities:
- Thematic & Cross-Sector Research: Collaborate with the Lead Analyst to conduct in-depth thematic and cross-sector research, identifying trends and investment opportunities.
- Financial Modeling: Build and maintain detailed financial models to support company valuations, including DCF, relative valuation, and scenario analysis.
- Report Writing: Contribute to the development of high-quality investment research materials, including thematic research reports, sector updates, and company-specific notes that offer clear insights and actionable recommendations
- Earnings Analysis: Update live earnings models, analyze quarterly results and conference calls, and draft earnings notes with key takeaways and investment implications.
- Industry Databases: Create and manage comprehensive industry databases to track key metrics, trends, and competitive dynamics.
- Data Gathering & Analysis: Gathering and analyzing large data sets from a variety of sources including company reports and online databases for conversion to crisp research reports
- Project Ownership: Independently manage complex research projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work with minimal supervision
Required Qualifications:
- Outstanding academic qualifications with a minimum of MBA / Master’s in Finance from a premier institution / CFA / CA
- 6+ years of Securities Research experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience

- Operational Excellence: Drive process improvements, enhance research workflows, and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables from the team.
- Strong Financial Acumen: Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and valuation methodologies, including key financial and valuation ratios.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to read through financial reports, news, investor presentations, and transcripts and identify key information
- Database Proficiency: Skilled in using financial data platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet, and others, including the ability to extract and manipulate data using formulas and custom queries
- Advanced Financial Modeling: Experience in updating and maintaining financial models for various scenarios including earnings forecasts, M&A analysis, corporate restructuring, and initiation coverage.
- Strong Investment Research Writing Skills: Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and insightful investment research notes covering earnings results, sector themes, and market outlooks.
- Technical Tools & Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Excel VBA programming is a strong plus. Exposure to AI tools and techniques for enhancing research workflows is highly desirable
- Effective Communication: High level of proficiency in English with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with global stakeholders
