Autodesk Civil 3D - Application Administration
Summary
Application administrators administer Hatch’s computer systems and play an important role in technical software support and associated implementations. They have the responsibility to ensure applications operate in a manner that supports Hatch projects and corporate systems.
They respond to tickets and serve as a contact/liaison for functional users, project systems managers and IT technical staff for technical issues. They provide application-level expertise, augmenting the skills and the expertise available via the service desk.
They take direction from the AMS Lead and System Administration Technology Lead.
They work with the global Technical Implementation Specialists and relevant Product Managers to understand the requirements for each system used on a specific project in resolving technical issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support Autodesk software components in a complex mission critical environment
- Manage, support, and resolve complex software, vendor and proprietary technical issues
- Identify and resolve medium to highly complex production problems for support of applications
- Identify proactive solutions for recurring technology occurrences to benefit the business
- Maintain application configuration documentation
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
- Collaborate and interact with various stakeholders including the ICT team
- Work closely with application development teams and vendors to tune and troubleshoot applications
- Willing to work after hours as part of a global team
- Lead and participate in efforts to develop and implement processes for application and system monitoring
- Lead and participate in efforts to implement application updates to include upgrades, patches and new releases
- Undertake integration between various systems using available API's and web services
- Adhere to standards and processes for systems in Hatch
- Provision of 1st Level Application Support. For example, user administration or project set-up issues
- Work on and close out tickets in the Hatch Zendesk System
- Manage your assigned ticket queue.
Qualifications
Skills
- Understand software and hardware requirements of varied departmental systems
- Understand the workflow and process requirements of complex application systems
- Demonstrated ability to be the subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex applications
- Excellent problem solving/analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools
- Display and execute logical and complex troubleshooting methods
- Excellent verbal, written communication and ability to work well with others
- Teamwork: Working together to achieve organizational and team goals
- Demonstrated soft skills required such as presentation of ideas and ability to clearly articulate the concepts to senior management
- Ability to effectively interface with technical and nontechnical staff at all organizational levels
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the Information Technology field
- 3 years hands-on experience in application administration and operational systems support (day to day operations including installation, upgrade, configuration, trouble shooting, debugging, patching)
- Experience with at least one of the following Autodesk CAD platforms:
- Revit
- AutoCAD Civil3D
- Experience in process automation, best practice approach, technology efficiency, and effectiveness
- Experience with ACC/BIM360 Design Collaboration an asset
Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree and equivalent combination of education, training or work experience
