BAM Construction is recruiting a Pre-Construction Director based in the Scotland region. This is an excellent career opportunity for an individual who wants to bring dynamism and creativity to our Pre-Construction activities, and help shape the future strategic direction of our business within the Scotland.
Making Possible
- Key areas of responsibility :
- CRM Management:
- Including management of key clients and opportunities.
- Initial completion of Stage Gate information and requirements across the tender period.
- Tender Management:
- Creation and classification of opportunities.
- Preparation and management of tender documents.
- Presenting at Tenderdesk Meetings and Tenderdesk events.
- Completion and issue of NDAs, EOIs, PQQs, and capability documents.
- Manage the download and upload of tender documents to source.
- Create BAM Flow projects and bid action plans.
- Arrange Strategy & Finalising Meetings, Site Visits, and Risk Register Meetings.
- Manage bid response and tender submissions including the preparation and completion of quality submission.
- Assemble interview team and prepare / manage Post Tender Interview Presentations
- Work Winning Hub:
- Support data upload and weekly schedule and presentations
- Prepare slides and present at Work Winning Hub Meetings.
- Assist in preparation of regional OP/MFs/QFs.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Conduct client credit checks via finance.
- Implement Relationship Based Sales Strategies across our key clients
- Carry out Project and Client feedback sessions and prepare and issue reports
- Liaison with closely with Enabling Services teams.
- Attend and report at SMM & SMSMs.
- Represent the region within UK&I Working Groups.
- Attend government and industry events
- Team Management:
- Management of Bid Support Staff carrying out P&D reviews of staff.
- Provide support to Design Management & Planning and Digital functions.
- Support regional initiatives and safety and wellbeing activities.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Carry out Directors Safety Tours.

What Do You Bring To The Role?
- Experience in pre-construction or project development, ideally within the Scottish market.
- You will have considerable experience in a Pre-Construction role for a main contractor leading Pre-Construction teams on tenders up to £100m.
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential and the ability to effectively engage with clients and external consultants while building relationships internally and externally.
- Thorough understanding of Health and Safety and the proactive opportunities during pre-construction to influence better performance.
- You will understand both private and public sector project procurement processes, including frameworks, and be comfortable working in a time critical, fast moving environment
- A degree qualification or equivalent and CIOB or equivalent
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
- Proven experience in bid management or a similar role.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and tender management software.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
