Datacolor is actively seeking a talented Print & Packaging Product Manager to join our global workforce.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Manager to lead our Print & Packaging portfolio. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our offerings in packaging substrates, printing technologies, and workflow solutions for industrial and commercial clients. You will be the strategic owner of the product line, driving innovation, customer-centric development, and market expansion.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for Print & Packaging solutions.
  • Align product development with customer needs, industry trends, and business goals.
  • Lead portfolio decisions including new product introductions, enhancements, and retirements.

Customer & Market Insight

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Engage with customers to understand workflows, pain points, and unmet needs.
  • Translate insights into actionable product requirements and business cases.

Product Development & Lifecycle Management

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation to launch and post-launch support.
  • Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and manufacturing to ensure timely and quality delivery.
  • Define KPIs and monitor product performance, driving continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with sales, marketing, and customer support to ensure successful commercialization.
  • Develop training materials and go-to-market strategies.
  • Communicate product vision and updates to stakeholders and senior leadership.

Industry-Specific Focus

  • Stay current with innovations in printing technologies, sustainable packaging, and regulatory standards.
  • Advocate for digitization and automation in packaging workflows.
  • Support integration of color management and quality control tools into packaging solutions.

Experience & Qualifications:

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or STEM-related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 7-10+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Marketing, Technical Marketing, Program Management or Product Applications Support related to Print & Packaging.
  • Completed Product Management certifications or coursework from accredited institution.
  • Experience in spectrophometers, technical measuring instruments, and/or industrial products that are used in laboratories, production, or research highly desired.
  • Strong understanding of packaging materials, printing processes (flexo, offset, digital), and sustainability trends.
  • Deep experience with workflows in color management across one or more industries (textile, paint and coatings, plastics, automotive, print and packaging) highly desired.
  • Six Sigma certification: Green Belt or Black Belt highly desired.
  • Willingness to travel (15–25%) to customer sites and production facilities.

To be successful in this role, you must exhibit the following strengths or deep knowledge in:

Life Cycle Management

  • Success in leading, launching, and maintaining technical products through the stage gate process across R&D, manufacturing, sales, and marketing.
  • Comfortable developing a product roadmap across 1–3-year period.

Customer and Market Knowledge

  • Ability to analyze customer, market, and technical product requirements and identify value-added product, service, or market opportunities.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, learn about customer journeys and communicate empathy through clear product requirements in MRD and prioritized backlogs.

High Accountability and Ownership

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering technical products and solutions/services to customers.
  • Strong leadership and ownership to execute a project plan and deliver expected business outcomes.

Business and Financial acumen

  • Ability to build business cases to justify the need (or lack of) for product introduction, innovation, and enhancement.
  • Comfortable with data-driven insights and working with financial models to show return-on-investment (ROI) on recommendations.

Strong Communication and Analytical Skills 

  • Ability to present ideas and get buy-in from peers and team members based on sound analysis or research.
  • Speak with confidence and bring new ideas to the table or agenda.

Highly Collaborative and Independent

  • Play dual support role of team player and go-to individual for initiatives related to product.
  • Able to function independently and effectively with little oversight.

Noted Expectations Of The Role:

  • Able to lift, carry, transport 15-20 kg with relative ease.
  • Able to travel both domestic and international (15 – 25% of time).

Location:

 This role is based in Europe and is a hybrid role in line with current company policy.
