General Description
Provides guidance and support on a range of legal issues across the Asia Pacific. Researches and analyses laws and regulations and represents the company in legal matters. Manages relationships with outside counsel.
Essential Job Functions
- Reviews contracts for Crane Worldwide to include NDAs, MSAs, Agency Agreements, Client Agreements, Vendor Agreements, Lease Agreements, and VMIs.
- Keep updated records of Crane Companies Legal Organisation Chart and Crane Companies Legal documents (e.g Articles of Association, Certificate of Incorporation/Formation, etc.)
- Creates and maintains a legal library containing all documents of Asia Pacific entities, including Board Resolutions, contracts, leases, company documents, officer/director information, and manages its security.
- Develops and maintains standard procedures for entity formation and compliance.
- Prepares Demand Letters for non-payment of accounts, files lawsuits for collection, and negotiates settlements.
- Partner with HR on employment law matters: draft and review employment contracts, internal work rules, and termination processes; coordinate industrial-relations dispute resolution and litigation strategies with in-country counsel
- Establishes and manages relationships with external attorneys and within the organisation to ensure that the business is in a position to obtain expert opinion on specialist areas of the law as and when required.
- Managing any litigation cases across Asia Pacific (e.g warehouse fire, bad debt, fraud, etc)
- Other duties as assigned

Other Skills/Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent time management abilities.
- Good Knowledge of Legal, Corporate, and Employment Regulations across the Asia Pacific.
- Strong knowledge of contracting, negotiating, organisation development/change management, budgeting, action planning and supervision is required for successful performance.
- Strong conceptual, analytical, judgment and communication abilities are critical.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and vendors.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor of Law in Business Law.
- Minimum 8 years of Corporate legal experience, gained with a sizable company
- Experience in the transport, marine, or logistics industry preferred.
Certifications And Licenses
Professional certification may be required in some areas.
