Colgate-Palmolive Athens plant has been operating since 1968 in Piraeus. It is a modern industrial unit with a high degree of automation. It has innovative equipment and follows an impressive course of development and modernization in all departments, such as packaging, mass production, palletizing, warehouse of materials and products. We are vertically integrated, operating a modern unit for the production of plastic bottles and caps, which is also constantly being upgraded. The factory produces most of the brands of the company's Home Care category, both for the domestic market but also for exports.
We are currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Plant Floor Systems team !
The role : Automation Technician
reporting to Automation Engineer
After receiving the appropriate training, you will integrate in the PFS team, and you will be responsible to :
- Maintain, support and improve operational equipment by modifying PLC, SCADA and HMI applications
- Identify, analyze and solve (potential) problems / malfunctions of the production lines related to automation functions
- Provide the technical expertise to configure, maintain and troubleshoot plant equipment and systems within the plant and execute hands on integration assignments on site
- Ιmplement technical solutions to optimize plant performance operation with control software (Siemens, B&R, etc.), drive technology ( Siemens, Danfoss, Schneider , etc.), camera technology (Cognex, Baumer, etc.), and visualization systems (WinCC )
- Understand and adhere to all Safety, Quality, Factory Performance and Reliability standards and guidelines
What you need for this position:
- Academic background: Technical studies in Automation or an equivalent technical school
- 2-5 years of relevant professional experience in industry
- Κnowledge of PLCs, sensors, drive technology, visualization systems and camera technology
- Communication skills: Excellent command of Greek and English languages
- Digital literacy: PC proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
- Possibility of working in the afternoon shift
- Fulfilled military obligations for male applicants
- Ability to communicate optimally with all levels of the organization
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner and working collaboratively with others
- Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvements and assist with implementing them
It’S An Advantage To Have:
- Programming knowledge of PLC automation tools such as Step 7, TIA Portal and WinCC, as well as expertise in SIMATIC, PROFINET, and Fail-Safe systems.
