Who are we hiring?
The VP Customer Marketing will lead the development and execution of strategies that maximize customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and lifetime value. This role is accountable for driving measurable business outcomes through performance marketing, CRM, loyalty programs, and data-driven campaigns.
Key responsibilities include overseeing all digital performance marketing efforts, managing CRM strategy and execution, optimizing customer journeys, and ensuring our website content is compelling, on-brand, and conversion-focused. The VP will work cross-functionally with sales, product, technology, and creative teams to deliver integrated campaigns that drive revenue and enhance the customer experience.
This leader must be highly analytical, results-oriented, and deeply experienced in leveraging data, segmentation, and marketing technology to deliver personalized, high-performing campaigns at scale.
What will you do?
Marketing Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute comprehensive, data-driven marketing strategies aligned with business goals to drive sales, engagement, and revenue growth.
- Identify market trends, opportunities, and competitive threats to inform decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.
Campaign Development, Content & Execution
- Lead integrated marketing campaigns across website, paid media, email, in collaboration with creative, PR, social, revenue, sales, and product teams.
- Oversee content strategy and management across the website and customer journey, ensuring all touchpoints are optimized for engagement, conversion, and a consistent brand experience.
- Partner with creative teams to deliver campaign briefs informed by paid media performance insights.
CRM, Segmentation & Personalization
- Own CRM strategy and execution, including audience segmentation, nurture flows, and marketing automation to optimize engagement and conversion.
- Leverage customer data and insights to create targeted, personalized campaigns that maximize lifetime value.
Analytics & Optimization
- Work closely with Data & Analytics teams to analyze customer behavior, sales trends, and competitive activity to inform strategy.
- Continuously monitor campaign performance and ROI, adjusting strategies to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
- Optimize the customer journey from awareness through conversion and retention, with a focus on digital experience and guest satisfaction.
Cross-Functional & Partner Collaboration
- Align with Sphere Brand, Sphere Studios, Operations, and Strategy teams on product positioning, show scheduling, pricing, and overall go-to-market approach.
- Collaborate with Sales to develop marketing collateral, POS materials, and initiatives that support revenue growth.
- Build strategic marketing partnerships with Las Vegas hotels, LVCVA, and other key partners to convert visitors into Sphere customers.
Leadership & Budget Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team across multiple disciplines.
- Manage agency relationships, ensuring optimal investment of media and marketing spend.
- Develop, manage, and report on the marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and tied to performance outcomes.
- Communicate strategies, performance results, and insights to executive leadership and stakeholders.
What do you need to succeed?
- 15+ years of experience in premium performance marketing and advertising, with a strong focus on live entertainment, theater, venue attractions, and pop culture.
- 10+ years of senior leadership experience within the entertainment, live events, or arena industry.
- Proven success leading and developing high-performing marketing teams and executing innovative, revenue-driving strategies.
- Demonstrated expertise in brand strategy, positioning, and creative development for a premium or culturally significant brand.
- Deep understanding of digital marketing trends, emerging technologies, and data-driven growth strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret ticket sales, demographic data, and competitive insights to optimize marketing performance.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders.
- Adept at operating at both strategic and operational levels, driving execution while shaping long-term vision.
- Highly organized with excellent communication, negotiation, project management, and time management skills.
- Experience directly managing, coaching, and developing diverse teams.
- Strong knowledge of the Las Vegas market and its unique entertainment and hospitality landscape is required (including visitor behavior, competitive dynamics, and local partnerships).
- Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and ambitious goals.
Special Requirements
- Based in Las Vegas, NV, with occasional travel to Burbank, CA and New York, NY.
- Some non-traditional work hours, as needed.
