Job Description
The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for financial planning & analysis (FP&A) leadership for the BioPharma business team at Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories. A successful candidate will be able to analyze and communicate financial performance, partner with business leaders to support decision making, and ensure finance policies are understood and applied consistently. This role requires a proactive, solution-oriented mindset that leverages finance, accounting and operations knowledge.
Location: Lancaster, PA. Full-time on-site role (minimum of four days per week in office).
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for accuracy and insights.
- Generate regular reporting on operational and financial KPIs for business leadership, highlighting trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify deviations from budgets and forecasts; propose corrective measures.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working with department heads to develop realistic, data-driven budgets and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Build and maintain financial models to project cash flow, revenue, and profitability; monitor performance against these forecasts.
- Collaborate across business segments and functions to provide financial guidance on key business decisions and initiatives.
- Build relationships across centralized functions and group accounting to ensure proper reporting and financial management
- Perform in-depth profitability and cost analyses to identify cost savings, process improvements, and investment opportunities.
- Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership, contributing to long-term strategic planning.
- Monitors and analyzes Net Working Capital (NWC) and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) metrics; works with management to implement NWC controls and improvements, including assisting with initiatives to reduce Net Unbilled Revenues (Work in Progress)
- Partner with business leadership to ensure compliance with Eurofins Group standards and delegations of authority polices. Track capital spending and assist businesses with capital authority requests as needed.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies; recommend and implement internal controls where needed.
- Assist in identifying and analyzing cost savings and new investment opportunities by employing various analytical methodologies, including discounted cash flow analyses.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related business field.
- Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience in Corporate Finance or Accounting. Experience in a client services or laboratory environment is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Communications: The ideal candidate should possess strong verbal and written communication skills as well as raw intellectual aptitude to apply to business and analytical challenges.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong quantitative and analytical skills; can translate data into actionable recommendations. Entrepreneurial problem solver who finds a way to get things done.
- Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with MS Office including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working with Accounting, ERP and Business Intelligence systems.
- A solid understanding of GAAP and three-statement financial modeling.
Additional Information
