Job Summary

The Manager, Engineering – Manufacturing is a leadership role responsible for overseeing manufacturing engineering operations, strategic planning, and team development. This position ensures alignment with organizational goals through process optimization, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration. The incumbent leads engineering teams, manages complex projects, and drives continuous improvement initiatives working with Operational Excellence team. This role requires strong leadership, decision-making capabilities, and the ability to mentor and develop engineering talent.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team to support production goals and strategic initiatives
  • Oversee troubleshooting and servicing of manufacturing equipment and process concerns
  • Approve and guide the design and implementation of fixtures and tooling to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for shop floor process optimization
  • Ensure compliance with ISO specifications and internal standards
  • Provide leadership in product development meetings and design reviews
  • Facilitate Design and Process FMEAs and ensure effective risk management
  • Oversee creation and maintenance of BOM structures in accordance with production and process requirements
  • Adhere to continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of innovation
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff through coaching and performance management
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align engineering efforts with business objectives
  • Other duties as assigned by senior management

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Manufacturing Engineering preferred
  • Five to ten years of experience in a factory environment
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills for all levels, internal and external
  • Works within framework of identified organizational strategy
  • Understand and be able to implement drawings according to the Engineering Drawings specification (PI H-3-73002)
  • Demonstrate proficiency with 2D Drawings and 3D Modeling
  • Must understand the concept of Continuous Improvement/Lean
  • Must have expert knowledge of manufacturing techniques
  • Must be eligible to obtain passport
  • Demonstrate initiative by understanding what actions need to be taken and completing the required tasks while seeking the perspective of others as required
  • Demonstrate an honest and forthright presence by taking responsibility for own mistakes and not blaming others, and by doing what he / she commits to doing
  • Work as a team player to make a difference within the business and express gratitude and appreciation to others who have provided information, assistance, or support
  • Readily handle change through taking advantage of lifelong learning opportunities and being open minded and curious in the face of new challenges

Essential Job Functions:

  • Occasional overseas travel for extended periods required
  • Occasional Domestic Travel required
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
