As an Associate Partner for the DGA ASG China Practice, you will contribute to leading the firm’s large and growing global China practice. You will counsel companies and organizations to navigate China and geopolitics leading high-stakes engagements that deliver strategic insights for clients operating across the world's most complex bilateral relationship. You will be part of a globally integrated team that serve clients from Washington, DC, Beijing, and Shanghai, and work with colleagues across DGA’s13 global offices to work on global mandates solving critical business challenges at the intersection of geopolitics and commerce.
The ideal candidate brings comprehensive expertise and the ability to advise clients across geopolitical, regulatory, and trade issues related to China, with deep understanding of China's intersections with key global markets around the world.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, leading in the delivery of briefings and strategic counsel to clients and managing high-performing project teams.
- Assist in driving new business development and expanding existing client relationships.
- Lead client engagement teams to exceed client expectations assisting clients to navigate China’s complex business environment and geopolitics.
- Serve as the primary contact for DGA ASG China practice clients driving retention and expanding relationships.
- Amplify your expertise through firm thought leadership, media interviews, and speaking engagements.
- Identify new market opportunities through networking, thought leadership, and partnership with our business development team and effectively cross-sell firm offerings.
- Mentor team members and create development pathways that expand firm capabilities.
- Participate in annual practice planning and ongoing monitoring of P&L to drive sustainable growth and market leadership.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, international relations, public policy, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A graduate degree in a related field preferred
- Experience related to the health and life sciences sector or on related issues such as intellectual property is a plus.
- Preference for proficiency in Chinese language
- Demonstrated excellence in writing, editing, research, and analytical thinking
- Highly self-motivated and capable of managing both long-term and short-term projects independently, with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, collaborating effectively across multiple time zones and geographies.
