As the Engineering Manager for the Platform Core Team at Cribl, you will be positioned to drive and influence foundational technology decisions that power many of the company’s products. The Core team supports the scale and reliability requirements needed by both enterprise customers as well as internal engineering teams within Cribl.

As An Active Member Of This Team, You Will...

• Build, mentor, and lead high-performing, cross-functional engineering teams dedicated to developing high quality distributed systems
• Champion technical excellence by setting high standards for design, code quality, and system robustness
• Take a hands-on approach when needed, providing code reviews, architecture guidance, and technical support to unblock the team
• Drive projects from concept to completion, including idea generation, design, implementation, and testing
• Foster a customer-centric culture, ensuring the team remains focused on delivering exceptional products that delight customers
• Attract, hire, and nurture top talent while promoting an inclusive and diverse team environment
• Balance immediate problem-solving with long-term strategic planning to drive sustainable innovation
• Collaborate across different engineering teams and departments, technical leads, product, and reliability teams to clearly align business needs and deliver joint outcomes.
• Partner effectively with product management and operations teams to shape, prioritize, and execute the product roadmap
• This position will require stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties

If You've Got It - We Want It

• Proven experience leading distributed engineering teams with a focus on collaboration and effective delivery
• Strong technical expertise in designing and building scalable, distributed systems
• Hands-on experience in developing high-scale data streaming systems
• Background in building and deploying software within a SaaS environment
• Strong systems knowledge of how things work underneath the hood (linux, cloud)
• Demonstrated ability to hire, train, and mentor high-performing engineers, supporting all stages of software development and maintenance
• Comfortable working directly with customers to troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate on feature enhancements
• Track record of establishing and promoting strong engineering practices and processes
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, with 10+ years of industry experience
• At least 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership role as a team lead or engineering manager

Salary Range ($215,000 - $255,000)

The salary for this role is dependent on geographic location. The salary offered within the range described will be based on the individual candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition to a competitive salary, Cribl also offers a generous benefits package which includes health, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance, paid holidays and paid time off, a fertility treatment benefit, 401(k), equity, and eligibility for a discretionary company-wide bonus.
