Job Description

This position is contingent on contract award.

Job Location: Clarksburg, WV

This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program.  The person in this position will represent International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. and provide services outlined below: 

International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. is looking for an individual who is an experienced Family Medicine Physician to provide comprehensive medical care to patients, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of health issues. They serve as the first point of contact for patients, coordinating overall healthcare needs and fostering long-term relationships to promote optimal health and wellness. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employ principles of Primary care for management of acute and chronic conditions.  
  • Provide initial evaluation, treatment and management of minor wound care, respiratory illness, gastrointestinal illness, burns, musculoskeletal trauma, dermatological illness, ENT, eye and urological problems.  
  • Provide initial evaluation and ongoing management of chronic diseases, such as, coronary artery disease, atherovascular disease, Type I and II diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, PTSD, depression and other chronic medical and psychiatric conditions.  
  • Be present on time for any scheduled tour of duty as documented by physical presence in Primary Care at the scheduled start time.  
  • Follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.  
  • Provide notification of test results for patients receiving care in accordance with VHA Directive 1088, Communicating Test Results to Providers and Patients. 
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings with committee participation as required by the facility Chief of Service, Chief of Staff, or designee. 
  • Complete the appropriate QM/PI documentation pertaining to all procedures, complications and outcome of examinations. 
  • Document care given and select appropriate Evaluation and Management (E&M) procedure codes in the current EHR. Documentation must be sufficient to support both the E&M and procedure codes. Documentation and coding functions must be completed by the end of each patient care encounter. 
  • Attend staff meetings as required by the facility Chief of Service, Chief of Staff, or designee. 
  • Follow all established patient safety and infection control standards of care. 
  • Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements/Certifications:

  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. 
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 

Education Required:

  • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association, Association of American Medical Colleges, Liaison Committee on Medical Education, Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. 
  • Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. 
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. 
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs. 

Other Special Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate. 
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required. 
  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
