Job Description
Job Summary:
The Medical Lead represents the affiliate’s medical/scientific voice of expertise for assigned products and relevant the therapeutic area. He/she provides medical / scientific expert advice / guidance to key customers for assigned products in Gastroenterology, including scientific exchange and professional relationship development with key opinion leaders. Furthermore he/she provides medical / scientific input into marketing strategy and key commercial initiatives, as required, and medical / scientific support for medical department activities under the direction of the Head of Medical.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing expert medical/scientific advice for assigned products in Gastroenterology, contributing to the development and medical and scientific accuracy of core dossiers (i.e. pricing and reimbursement dossiers, MoH submission dossiers, medical information packs, etc)
- Supporting the planning, management and execution of local clinical studies (e.g. reviewing new clinical study protocols, identifying potential investigators/sites, conducting feasibility surveys) and as well supporting Investigators Initiated Studies
- Conceive, plan and execute (real-world) Evidence Generation activities, such as Post-Marketing Observational Studies/Non-Interventional Studies, registry analyses and medical chart reviews to further Standard of Care
- Conceptualising, planning and executing medical education & insight generation activities such as advisory boards, roundtables and scientific activities during congresses
- Establishing and maintaining professional and credible relationships with key opinion leaders and academic centers
- Delivering training to sales forces and other departments
- Reviewing of promotional material
- Ensure solid experience with cross-functional teams especially in the brand team and matrix organizations
- Close collaboration with the marketing and sales department in the development and execution of the brand plan
- Ensure that all activities and interactions are conducted with due regard to all applicable local, global and national laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, Company policies and accepted standards of best practice
- Lead, coach and develop the assigned Medical Science Liaisons & Medical Advisors
- Further exchange and knowledge transfer cross-Immunology for Immune-Mediated Inflammatory Diseases within the Medical immunology Leadership Team
Qualifications
- University degree (Master, MD and/or PhD preferred) in a scientific discipline
- 3+ years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison or similar role
- Experience in multiple therapeutic areas preferred
- Broad general knowledge on drug development and clinical research will be an advantage
- Experience working in complex matrix environments is an advantage
- Leadership capabilities
- Business fluent in German (C1), English (business fluent) and French (ideally B1+)
Critical skills required for the role:
- Keen interest in developing and maintaining expert knowledge production Gastroenterology and in medical research in general
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills
- High customer orientation
- Ability to connect medical topics with Commercial success
