Principal/Team Lead Machine Learning Engineer

• We are seeking a Principal/Team Lead Machine Learning Engineer to guide our ML team.
• In this role, you’ll combine technical depth with leadership to shape strategy, mentor engineers, and ensure ML delivers maximum business impact.

Types Of Problems You’Ll Be Solving:

• Driving the development of a best-in-class recommendation system
• Steering solutions for pLTV challenges using causal ML and sequence modelling
• Leading the design of adaptive reward schemes with Bayesian modelling to respond to player behaviours and market trends

Your Role:

• Define and own the ML strategy to accelerate Almedia’s growth
• Lead and grow a high-performing ML team, fostering collaboration and technical excellence
• Partner with product, engineering, and growth leaders to align ML priorities with company objectives
• Ensure ML models are scalable, measurable, and directly tied to business outcomes
• Cultivate a culture of experimentation, knowledge-sharing, and innovation within the team

You Have:

• Extensive experience leading ML initiatives end-to-end, with proven business impact in adtech or similar industries
• Strong background in statistics, experimental design, and applied ML techniques
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and cloud-based ML workflows
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire technical teams
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills to influence at the leadership level

Bonus Points For:

• Passion for gaming and a strong understanding of game mechanics and player engagement
• Background in adtech, monetisation, or gambling platforms
• Experience with key gaming metrics like pLTV, retention, and ROAS
