Team Description
Coupang’s Ethics and Compliance team plays a critical role in fostering a culture of integrity by ensuring that all employees, leaders, and third parties adhere to the company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. Through ongoing guidance and oversight, the team helps individuals navigate situations that may involve personal interests or external influences, encouraging decisions that reflect transparency and sound judgment. This commitment is reinforced through company-wide standards and policies that address ethical conduct, conflicts of interest, and appropriate interactions with third parties, all of which contribute to building a workplace rooted in trust and accountability.
Job Description Summary
We are seeking a mid-level compliance professional to join Coupang’s Ethics and Anti-Corruption Compliance Team.
This role will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance programs, policies, and controls to uphold Coupang’s ethical standards and mitigate corruption risks across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conflicts of Interest Program Management:Manage the administration and continuous improvement of Coupang’s Conflicts of Interest Program, including disclosures, reviews, and mitigation strategies.
- Policy and System Support:Assist in designing and monitoring compliance policies, procedures, and systems aligned with Coupang’s global compliance framework.
- Training and Awareness:Support the development and delivery of compliance training and awareness initiatives. Maintain accurate training records and assist in distributing compliance communications to promote a strong ethical culture.
Advisory & Case Management
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on ethical dilemmas and conflict of interest situations.
- Review disclosures and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to assess and mitigate risks.
- Document and track cases, decisions, and resolutions in a secure and confidential manner.
Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare regular reports on program effectiveness, trends, and risk areas for senior leadership.
- Analyze data to identify patterns and recommend improvements to the program.
- Ethics Compliance Controls:Contribute to the implementation and evaluation of ethics and anti-corruption controls to effectively manage corruption risks across the organization.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:Partner with internal stakeholders such as business units, legal, HR, and other functions to promote ethical decision-making, identify and address control gaps, enhance compliance processes, and ensure alignment with local and global regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5–10 years of professional experience in compliance, legal, ethics, or a closely related field, preferably within a corporate or organizational setting
- Solid understanding of internal policy frameworks, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards applicable to corporate environments
- Proven ability to assess and manage potential risks related to employee conduct, third-party interactions, and organizational integrity
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing disclosures or policy-related matters
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Korean and English, with the ability to engage effectively across departments and levels of seniority
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced academic background in law (LL.B, J.D., or equivalent) is a plus.
- Experience conducting internal reviews or managing employee disclosures
- Familiarity with compliance areas such as conflicts of interest, gifts and entertainment, and code of conduct
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Document Return Policy

- In preparation for a job applicant’s request for the return of hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above, the Company shall retain the original hiring documents submitted by the job applicant for 180 days from the completion of the recruiting process. If no request is made until the end of this period, all his/her hiring documents will be destroyed immediately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
- The above paragraphs 1 - 4 shall only apply when the labor-related laws of Korea govern the application. They are otherwise not applicable.
