About The Role:
We are seeking an entry-level Software Engineer to work with our OEM Partnership Team to help Motive integrate with the top automotive manufacturers in the world. You will work closely with our OEM partnership team, third party program managers, and the manufacturers themselves to ensure that we can meet technical requirements of their programs. Expect to integrate with third party API’s, develop systems for maintaining content/branding at scale, and helping architect solutions that scale our product to dozens of partners and thousands of customers. This role will report directly to our CTO, as well as the lead engineer on our OEM team. They will also work very closely with internal program managers for scoping, planning, and approving work.
The ideal candidate is able to learn quickly, apply a strong work ethic to both small and large problems, and wants to have a large, direct impact on our business goals. They are a creative problem solver with an eye for design and a need for efficiency. This role requires close collaboration with internal business stakeholders and external stakeholders to ensure that we can meet requirements quickly and enable rapid expansion of our addressable market.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Build new UI components and customize existing ones to provide flexible while meeting brand guidelines
- Integrate with third party API’s for both backend and frontend use cases
- Work directly with internal and external stakeholders to manage projects
- Shape our core product to ensure OEM compliance is considered from day one
- Move the business forward by contributing to our largest driver of revenue
- Build robust integrations between Motive products, business systems, and third-party data sources to unlock speed and efficiency
- Work in a small, elite, cross-functional, and dynamic engineering team where your contributions have an immediate and noticeable impact
We are looking for someone who has/is:
- An intuition for good design
- 1+ years of React experience
- 1+ years of backend development experience (Ruby on Rails and/or Python preferred)
- Small startup experience (1-20 engineers)
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with great follow-through
We would prefer candidates who have/are interested in the following:
- Experience working with with external stakeholders on technical projects
- Experience integrating with a large number of third party API’s and data sources
Compensation: $90,000 to $110,000 in salary.
- Exact compensation will depend on experience and demonstrated proficiency during the interview process
- Your compensation will additionally include meaningful stock option compensation
- Motive contributes 100% of the cost of employees' health, dental, and vision insurance premiums. For employees’ dependents, Motive covers 50% of their insurance premiums
- Up 4% match on Roth or Traditional 401k
Work Location: Fully remote (U.S.) or hybrid in Seattle, WA / Oklahoma City, OK.
While Motive is headquartered in Oklahoma City, our engineering team is opening an office in Seattle for hybrid work. Anyone not located in or willing to relocate to the Seattle or Oklahoma City area can work fully remote.
