About The Role

We are seeking a transformative VP of Engineering to define and lead the next chapter of Stitch Fix’s client technology organization. This leader will shape a compelling future vision for engineering at Stitch Fix—one that emphasizes world-class execution, modern technical architecture, and operational rigor.

You’ll be responsible for driving engineering excellence across our web, mobile, and stylist-facing platforms, while building scalable, resilient systems that serve millions of clients. Just as critically, you’ll lay the groundwork for our future in Generative AI—bringing structure, safety, and scalability to how we embed emerging AI capabilities into client and stylist experiences.

This role requires close partnership with our Data Science & Algorithms, Product, Design, and Platform teams. You’ll balance velocity with quality, and innovation with stability—unlocking the full potential of our teams while delivering measurable business outcomes.

You'Re Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will…

  • Lead the engineering vision, strategy, and execution for client-facing platforms, ensuring scalability, resilience, and developer productivity.
  • Oversee client engineering across web, mobile, and shared services with a focus on technical excellence and architectural consistency.
  • Modernize and strengthen the technology foundation—retiring brittle legacy services and improving reliability, monitoring, and observability.
  • Build and develop a high-performance engineering organization with top talent in full-stack, platform, and AI engineering.
  • Collaborate with Product and Design to deliver high-quality, innovative client and stylist experiences at speed and scale.
  • Partner with the Data Science & Algos to translate ML/GenAI capabilities into impactful, production-grade features.
  • Operationalize Generative AI by building the technical productization layer—making AI models safe, scalable, and performant across real-world experiences.
  • Balance speed of innovation with platform stability, ensuring engineering efforts are tightly aligned to business priorities and long-term client value.

We’Re Excited About You Because…

  • You have a proven track record of leading engineering teams at scale in product-led, AI-forward companies.
  • You possess deep expertise in modern software architecture, distributed systems, and developer platforms that enable speed, quality, and innovation.
  • You have hands-on experience operationalizing ML and GenAI models—including LLMs, image generation, and multi-modal systems—into production-grade applications.
  • You have a proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Data Science and Product leaders to deliver seamless, client-facing experiences from model to interface.
  • You possess exceptional people leadership skills, with a history of building, mentoring, and scaling diverse, high-performing engineering teams.
  • You have excellent communication and collaboration instincts, with the ability to align stakeholders, navigate complexity, and drive toward outcomes.
  • You possess a bias for clarity and action in ambiguous environments, with a demonstrated ability to scale products from MVPs to resilient, extensible platforms.

Why You'Ll Love Working At Stitch Fix...

  • We are a group of bright, kind people who are motivated by challenge. We value integrity, innovation and trust. You’ll bring these characteristics to life in everything you do at Stitch Fix.
  • We cultivate a community of diverse perspectives— all voices are heard and valued.
  • We are an innovative company and leverage our strengths in fashion and tech to disrupt the future of retail.
  • We win as a team, commit to our work, and celebrate grit together because we value strong relationships.
  • We boldly create the future while keeping equity and sustainability at the center of all that we do.
  • We are the owners of our work and are energized by solving problems through a growth mindset lens. We think broadly and creatively through every situation to create meaningful impact.
