About The Role

As a University Recruiter, Early Careers you will play a critical role in attracting, engaging, and hiring top-tier early-career talent from universities to fuel xAI's growth and innovation. You will partner with hiring managers, university career centers, student organizations, and faculty to build a robust pipeline of interns and new graduates for technical and non-technical roles. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong relationship-building skills, and a passion for identifying future leaders in technology. The ideal candidate is a true go-getter who is highly data-driven and committed to results.

This is an in-person role based onsite in Palo Alto or San Francisco. The ideal candidate has experience working in a fast-paced startup-like environment and wearing multiple hats while keeping our candidate’s experience in mind.

  • Campus Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with university career centers, faculty, and student organizations to promote our brand and opportunities. 
  • Talent Sourcing: Identify, attract, and engage high-potential candidates through career fairs, campus events, info sessions, and targeted outreach.
  • Recruitment Strategy: Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and design effective university recruiting strategies for internships and full-time roles.
  • Event Planning: Organize and execute on-campus and virtual recruiting events, such as tech talks, hackathons, and networking sessions.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Track recruiting metrics, analyze trends, and provide recommendations to optimize university hiring programs.
  • Employer Branding: Represent the company as a brand ambassador, showcasing our culture, values, and career opportunities to students and university partners.
  • Program Management: Support the development and execution of internship programs, including onboarding, mentorship, and conversion to full-time roles

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in recruiting at fast-paced, hyper-growth environments, whether it be agency or in-house.
  • Proven track record of developing and managing both high-volume pipelines and specialty technical positions.
  • Outcome-oriented recruiter with strong analytical skills and a proven track record of data-driven decision-making; ability to thrive in ambiguity.
  • Full-cycle recruiting experience, with exposure to challenging closes, managing clients and developing key internal partnerships.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills or Qualifications

  • Experience working with Greenhouse ATS and Gem. 
  • Experience supporting hiring events and driving various actions post event to understand ROI.
  • Familiarity with talent attraction and creating strategies to stay up to date on movement across the market.
  • Experience working at a high growth start up that has built solutions that will scale as the company grows.
  • Experience hiring candidates across all technical disciplines, including research.  

Annual Salary Range

$130k-210k

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at xAI. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses.
