Job Description
We are currently looking for a Senior Lead, Master Data & Quality to join our growing team! In this role, you will serve as the executional steward of enterprise master data and data quality within IT. You will be responsible for ensuring that core data assets including customer, product, network, and billing data are accurate, consistent, and trusted across systems. You will partner closely with BI & Analytics, Data Engineering, the Data Strategy Office, and business stakeholders in Finance, Sales, and Operations to define master data standards, implement quality rules, and monitor data health. By centralizing data quality practices and managing master data processes, you will ensure that analytics, reporting, and operational systems are powered by reliable, unified information.
As a Senior Lead, Master Data & Quality, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Define and enforce master data standards across critical domains (customer, product, network, billing)
- Develop and implement data quality rules, monitoring, and dashboards using enterprise governance tools (e.g., Dataplex)
- Partner with BI & Analytics to ensure that reporting and KPI frameworks are based on trusted data
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Platform teams to embed data quality and master data checks into pipelines and integrations
- Work with business stakeholders to resolve data discrepancies at the source, ensuring alignment across systems such as ERP, CRM, OSS/BSS, and billing.
- Serve as the primary operator and subject matter expert for data quality and MDM capabilities within IT
- Provide recommendations to IT leadership on improving data trust, master data management processes, and tool adoption
- Educate stakeholders on the impact of data quality and promote a culture of trusted data across the organization
Qualifications
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional experience in data-related functions
- 5+ years of direct experience in data management, master data management (MDM), or data quality functions
- Hands-on experience with data quality tools, MDM platforms, and data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Atlan, Informatica, or equivalent).
- Strong SQL/ETL proficiency and ability to trace and validate data across systems.
- Understanding of telecommunication or fiber industry data domains (customer lifecycle, network assets, billing structures).
- Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and communicate data issues in business terms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail while keeping business impact in focus.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with cloud data platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Hands-on familiarity with BigQuery and its integration with data governance tools
- Knowledge of enterprise data governance frameworks and their operationalization within IT
- Background in telecom, utilities, or other data-rich, asset-heavy industries
