Mid-Level Business Intelligence Analyst (BI Analysis)

Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. is seeking a Mid-Level Business Intelligence Analyst to join Our team in Canada. This position will focus on the Safety Data Analytics (SDA) program within Boeing Global Services (BGS).

A successful candidate will be a self-starter who understands the importance of collaboration. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining BI and reporting tools that are used to communicate data-driven insights to customers around the globe.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains tools and dashboards that are used to report trends and benchmarks, in flight recorder data to enhance flight safety.
  • Develops and maintains Python packages and Power BI / Tableau dashboards that report insights from large, cloud-based datasets to cross-functional analytics team members and  aircraft operators in an easily digestible and actionable manner
  • Works with internal stakeholders to maintain, communicate, grow, and execute a roadmap of BI and reporting capabilities that include both functional and performance enhancements.
  • Scopes analytical projects, obtains relevant data, validates findings, seeks alignment, and shares results.
  • Analyzes large, cloud-based datasets to identify, disposition, and explain the root cause for unanticipated data trends
  • Exercises critical thinking and innovative problem solving.
  • Ensures commitments and service levels are achieved or exceeded.
  • Develops and maintains  partnerships while working in a cross-functional team of Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Software Developers.  Occasional travel may be required.
  • Demonstrates the Boeing Behaviors in a deliberate and observable way.

This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and will not require the selected candidate to relocate.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
  • Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data
  • 3+ years of experience in developing and maintaining Python packages that automate the reporting of business insights from large datasets
  • 3+ years of experience in using Matplotlib, Seaborn, and/or Plotly to visually communicate business insights from large datasets
  • 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining Tableau or Power BI dashboards that communicate insights from large datasets
  • 2+ years of experience using complex SQL queries to identify and report business insights from large datasets
  • 2+ years of experience in using Git for version control of software
  • 2+ years of experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • 2+ years of experience in analyzing and reporting data stored in parquet, csv, or orc files and SQL or NoSQL databases in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure, or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Candidate must be able to support our global customer base with a flexible work schedule which may include late or early meetings

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working with Azure Databricks, Delta Tables, and/or Google Cloud BigQuery
  • Experience working in a role that develops BI reporting capabilities as part of a cross-functional team that includes Data Engineering, Data Science, and/or Software Engineers
  • Experience working with aerospace datasets including onboard flight data

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing CanadaCandidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment. 

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.  
 
Salary pay range - $71,000 - $101,000 CAD
