Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of medical excellence and if required leadership within the regional MA organization in order to deliver business results and ensure effective deployment of Medical Governance framework across HALEON business.
This position will work closely with the MEA Medical Affairs Lead to establish direction, execute strategy, and ensure delivery of medical goals and objectives by driving the effectiveness and efficiency of the R&D community and cross-functional partners. This role collaborates extensively with various business functions to drive and implement medical affairs brand/product strategies and deliverables, including R&D functions, Category Medical Affairs, Global Category Leads, Regional commercial leads, regional commercial operation directors & GMs , safety, Legal & corporate compliance functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the management of Regional medical affairs support for Haleon LOCs both personally and through other medical associates based in the LOCs;
- With oversight from MEA MA Lead provide expert medical input to LOC / AREA regulatory applications, new product development and clinical activities, and business development and acquisition initiatives;
- Contributing to medical and technical training of Area LOCs about Haleon products and competitors;
- To provide medical affairs input to legal activities such as litigations, business practices evaluation and local policies development;
- Act as Haleon Medical voice in all interactions with Consumers, Health care Organizations and government bodies. Includes not limited to: a) To medically support customer enquiry systems which respond to enquiries and complaints; b) medical input to consumers relations questions and complaints as required; c) Working with the medical information department to evaluate consumer contacts to identify trends and products opportunities/weakness d) Oversight of Medical Information at the LOC , including Collecting, analyzing and communicating medical information trends to regulatory, medical, sales, marketing and commercial functions, enabling trend identification complying with all relevant regulations and professional standards
- Manage the medical elements of development of new products in MEA, especially for local stars.
- Responsible for medical affairs activities including but not restricted a)Strategic support based on medical concepts, ethics and consumers safety and well-being, b) Support and innovate scientifically substantiated and consumer appealing claims. c) Support to market information on data collection and analysis of Haleon products and competitors. d) To provide medical input to Haleon regional commercial and business strategy
Scope Of Accountability
This role has a significant accountability for- and oversight of the following activities with the added complexity of multiple Countries and stakeholders, cultures, different LOCs, Category Medical Affairs teams, and regional R&D with complex governance and business expectations:
- Assessing and enhancing Regional Medical Affairs Community Operating Model to drive results for Haleon.
- Leading the implementation of process improvement plans to enhance organizational efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Delivering KPIs to measure success / improvement areas and drives transparency through consistent communications.
- Supporting the Regional & MEA MA lead in delivering the short term and long-term goals and objectives activities to ensure that all Medical functions are appropriately aligned with the global launch for power brands and regional launches for local stars, plus that the enabling functions (Safety, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance functions, Finance, etc.) are aligned to support medical affairs objectives and service levels.
- Support medical communication and publication strategy covering all brand portfolio.
- At a regional project specific level ensure alignment with product strategies and drive execution timelines, ensure budget oversight and share metrics around deliverables and successes.
- Key contributor to the Regional/AREA MA Team on all MA activities including medical
Scientific Engagement Activities.
- Key Regional interface on behalf of Haleon with external organizations including Health Authorities, Healthcare Organizations, External Experts etc
Medical Affairs activities including but not limited to:
- Strategic support based on medical concepts, ethics and consumers safety and well-being,
- Support and innovate to accurate, scientifically substantiated and consumer appealing claims.
- Support to market information on data collection and analysis of Haleon products and competitors
- Promotional materials evaluation and approval
These activities will involve building networks with and working closely with stakeholders within Regions and LOCs including Area and LOC commercial directors, with partnership and medical accountability to them for supporting the business and consumer expectations in the region/ area.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree in Biomedical Science or Pharmacy Ph.D, MD, DDS
- Manage operational needs of the Haleon Global Medical Affairs community
- Medical Affairs industry experience (at least 3 years) operating in a commercial environment, preferably in the Pharma, OTC and/or Nutritional space
- Minimum 4 years of strong, multi-discipline experience including clinical development, operations, project management or other functions in order to act decisively to manage the operational needs of the Global Medical Community with minor direction.
- External facing, scientifically impactful role, expected to be role model and mentor junior members of the Regional MA team
- Demonstrated ability utilizing influential leadership to manage projects and processes to a successful conclusion.
- Strong project management and organizational skills. Proactive, with ability to anticipate and plan, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, make decisions and respond to tight timelines.
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiations skills. Ability to facilitate alignment and collaboration across groups/regions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong computer literacy including competent in Microsoft Office software.
- Strong evidence of behaviors articulated in the Haleon Leadership expectations.
