What you will do

We're looking for an experienced payroll analyst to join the team and contribute to our success. In this role you will have an exciting opportunity to impact the experience our employees and managers have regarding their pay. As a Payroll Analyst you will interact with other Stryker employees ensuring exceptional service and timely and accurate responses to all inquiries.

As a Payroll Analyst you will be required to occasionally come into the Kalamazoo office. Ideally you will spend one to two days of your choosing each week onsite.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily payroll operations, including defensive data queries, payroll setup maintenance (earnings/deductions codes, tax mapping, garnishment vendors, SUI rates, GL costing), time transaction review, payroll processing, auditing, error correction, and distribution.
  • Review, analyze, reconcile, and interpret payroll data related to taxation, garnishments, and regulatory compliance for multi-state payrolls; validate interfaces with ADP and third-party systems.
  • Provide responsive, high-quality customer service to employees and managers regarding payroll inquiries via phone and online channels.
  • Investigate and resolve escalated payroll issues submitted through the myHR portal by identifying root causes and delivering timely resolutions.
  • Partner with HR business teams and Centers of Excellence (COEs) to resolve complex payroll issues and ensure accurate employee payments.
  • Collaborate with divisional finance teams to resolve reconciliation discrepancies and drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of electronic and manual payroll transactions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform regression and functional testing of system changes to ensure accuracy and integrity of payroll system updates and enhancements.

What You Need

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1+ years of work experience in payroll

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous business-facing HR, HR COE, HR Operations, or role related experience
  • Experience supporting Americas payroll regulations (U.S. and Canada)
  • 1+ years of federal, state, and local tax reporting experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in HRIS and payroll systems; preferred experience with ADP systems and Workday Payroll
  • Experience using MS Office specifically advanced MS Excel and analytical skills
  • Typing proficiency and experience using a case management system such as ServiceNow
