As the AVP, Marketing, you will lead our Financial Services (NF) Investments and Partnerships function that bridges fund marketing strategy, thought leadership consultation, and high-impact partnerships to drive business-line growth, brand equity, and engagement. You’ll be responsible for accelerating fund adoption across NF’s diverse distribution channels, including advisor-directed sales, institutional sales (IID), retirement platforms, and variable annuity and life products. You’ll serve on the NF Marketing Integration leadership team.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a high-performing team of marketers, strategists, and account-based relationship managers. Oversee associate management and development, including performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow and organization planning, day-to-day management, hiring and placement. 
  • Identify investment and resource needs of department and advocate for, secure and deploy to plan. 
  • Oversee content and digital engagement strategy for cross-BU investments marketing (Annuity, RS and Life) inclusive of Investment Experience Hub. 
  • Oversee highly-regulated investments product marketing function with an eye toward speed-to-market and compliance. 
  • Lead thought leadership partnership strategy responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic alliances that enhance brand equity, expand customer reach, and drive integrated marketing initiatives across channels—ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and business objectives. 
  • Build business cases and secure funding for partnerships. 
  • Advance Investments to elevate selling systems across the NF portfolio of products, further positioning Nationwide as a financial services company. 
  • Lead and execute IMG business segment marketing strategy. Partner with IMG third party asset manager team to expand brand, reach and engagement by optimizing available third party assets across marketing channels. 
  • Drive experience and product innovation through research and testing. Champion automation and AI in experiences to accelerate outcomes and drive efficiencies. 
  • Partner with NF Marketing and Sales teams to integrate Investments and Partnership assets and capabilities in marketing and sales processes. 
  • Implement feedback loops and analytics to continuously improve customer satisfaction and loyalty. 
  • Direct the development of business perspective work plans to determine needed resources to deliver program/project charters, requirements, user acceptance testing strategies, and system implementation. 
  • Spearhead marketing and enablement efforts that support NF’s mission to serve the agricultural community, including through legacy planning and financial education initiatives. Creates and distributes targeted thought leadership strategies, content and expertise to solve financial futures for the Agricultural community, using proprietary research, internal expertise, and partnerships with industry leaders. Develops and supports relationships with Farm Credit Partners.  
  • Lead the Nationwide Retirement Institute partnership strategy, Ag Financial partnerships (such as Land as Your Legacy) and key thought leadership relationships such the National Council on Aging and The American College.   
  • Operate with a broad, enterprise-wide lens to align Investments and Partnerships marketing efforts with NF’s strategic goals, while also delivering measurable results at the channel and community level. 
  • Lead a high-performing team of marketers, strategists, and experienced designers. Oversee associate management including performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow and organization planning, day-to-day management, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions for direct and indirect reports.  

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.   

Reporting Relationships: Reports to VP, Marketing Integration - NF. Lead team of 16 professionals, including 4-6 direct reports. 

Typical Skills And Experiences:

EducationBA in Marketing or Digital Field; MBA preferred.  

License/Certification/Designation: Role requires FINRA Series 26, 6 licenses. Will be required to acquire within 120 days of hire.  

Experience: Typically, 10 or more years of experience in marketing leadership roles, financial services preferred, with a strong focus on business-to-business audience development. Proven track record in senior marketing roles, ideally in financial services/investment management. Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale marketing initiatives.  

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Strategic Thinking: ability to develop and execute long-term marketing strategies aligned with business goals. Relationship Management: strong interpersonal skills to manage internal stakeholders and external partners. Analytical Acumen: proficiency in using data to drive decisions, measuring ROI, and optimizing effectiveness. Leadership: ability to inspire and lead teams, manage budgets, and influence C-suite executives. Investment management industry knowledge. Deep understanding of financial products (e.g., mutual funds, ETFs). Experience identifying, negotiating, and managing strategic partnerships.  

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
