SEO Specialist Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and analytical SEO Specialist to join our web marketing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing organic search strategies, conduct financial niche keyword research, perform technical SEO audits and site optimization and can create an SEO-driven content plan, manage link-building campaigns, and monitor competitors to increase visibility and generate leads in the financial technology sector.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies, including technical, on-page, and off-page tactics, to meet business objectives.
- Competitive Analysis: Monitor and analyze competitors' SEO strategies to identify gaps and opportunities in the market. Analyze data to improve ROI, and stay current with industry trends and search engine algorithm changes.
- Keyword Research: Conduct in-depth keyword and topic cluster research, identifying opportunities related to financial services, payments, and other fintech verticals.
- Content Optimization: Collaborate with content and product teams to optimize website copy, landing pages, and educational content, ensuring high quality, accuracy, and readability.
- Compliance Integration: Ensure all SEO activities, including content creation and optimization, strictly adhere to financial regulations (e.g., SEC, FINRA) and Google’s "Your Money or Your Life" (YMYL) content guidelines.
- Technical SEO: Perform regular technical SEO audits to identify and resolve issues related to site architecture, crawlability, indexing, and mobile usability.
- Link Building: Develop and execute effective link-building and digital PR strategies to acquire high-quality backlinks from reputable financial publications and authoritative sources.
- Analytics and Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on key SEO performance metrics such as organic traffic, keyword rankings, and lead generation using tools like Google Search Console and Google Analytics.
- User Experience (UX): Work with development and design teams to improve site speed, navigation, and overall user experience to reduce bounce rates and improve engagement.
- Algorithm Monitoring: Stay up-to-date with search engine algorithm changes and industry trends, adapting strategy accordingly.
Required skills and qualifications
- Experience: Proven track record of at least 3 years of SEO experience, with 2+ years specifically in the financial services or fintech industry.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the financial technology landscape, including payment systems, or other relevant domains.
- Compliance: Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing online financial information and advertising.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency with SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, and Google Search Console. A solid grasp of HTML, CSS, and website architecture is also essential.
- Content Strategy: Experience developing content strategies that demonstrate E-E-A-T (Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness).
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret data from analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics 4) to derive actionable insights and demonstrate ROI.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to articulate complex SEO concepts and report on performance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.
