Primarily responsible for supporting the EDAS Strategic Risk Enablement Leader in driving execution of first-line risk management functions across the team. Developing and executing risk related functions, including identification of data risk, documentation of operational procedures, development and execution of data controls, exam and audit management support, findings remediation, and risk-related initiatives. Develop an expert understanding of current data and analytics management related regulations and industry best practices, KeyBank Policies, Programs, Standards, and Procedures, and departmental operational processes and governance activities. Promote an organizational culture that encourages acknowledgement and recognition of risks and places a high priority on risk management.

A successful candidate will be a thought leader who can apply a risk focused approach and strong business acumen to provide solutions that align with Key’s broader data risk management strategy. A preferred candidate will be comfortable analyzing risk, recommending efficient and effective ways to mitigate risk, developing and implementing repeatable operational processes, facilitating cross-functional collaboration with a broad range of risk, operational, and technical business partners, and effectively communicating with stakeholders across the organization.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop an expert understanding of data and analytics management regulations, KeyBank policies, programs, standards, and procedures
  • Lead development, documentation, execution, and oversight of data risk related activities to enable effective and efficient risk mitigation across the Enterprise Data & Analytics Services team
  • Contribute to and/or facilitate cross-functional working sessions with stakeholders across the organization, enabling effective communication with business units and risk partners, and driving resolution to outstanding issues
  • Developing data management risks and controls and assisting stakeholders in developing and implementing repeatable operational processes
  • Assisting in regulatory exam management
  • Assisting in development of in-depth status updates to stakeholders, including senior leadership and risk committees
  • Develop collaborative relationships with business and risk partners and provide risk guidance on new initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Risk Management, Business Management, Data Governance, Finance, or Management Information Systems, with at least 4-6 years of experience
  • Ability to apply industry knowledge and a risk-focused approach
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen and problem-solving skills
  • Be comfortable working independently and in teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Exhibit thought leadership and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project Management skills – ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives across governance, risk, and compliance domains
  • Skilled in milestone planning, roadmap development, and stakeholder coordination
  • Strong accountability and self-motivation
  • Adept at simplifying complex processes for diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional meetings and working sessions
  • Experience working with senior leaders and managing up for approvals and strategic alignment

Compensation And Benefits

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $120,000.00 to $130,000.00 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
