Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Facilities Operations leads an enterprise team overseeing Critical Infrastructure, Operations, Security, Vendor & Supplier Management, and other specialized functions within Facilities Management across Ferguson’s global portfolio. In a 60/40 player-coach capacity, this role drives enterprise standards for critical systems performance, with deep focus on mechanical and electrical engineering, infrastructure reliability, energy management, and building performance; including Energy Star compliance and related benchmarking initiatives. This leader is instrumental in driving operational performance across the portfolio, serving as a technical partner to Regional Field Support and the Capital Improvement teams to ensure consistent execution, optimized system performance and long-term asset reliability.

Job Description

  • Lead and scale a high-impact, national team of Facilities Specialists and subject matter experts, setting strategic direction and driving performance across critical infrastructure, operations, vendor management and other functions.
  • Shape and drive enterprise-wide strategy for infrastructure operations, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and long-range facility plans.
  • Drive consistency and efficiency in facility operations through process improvement, standards development, and multi-functional coordination.
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of consolidated reports, including key performance indicators and periodic reviews of all facility activities to support strategic decision-making and ensure alignment with enterprise goals.
  • Own the enterprise facility operations roadmap, continuously assessing and optimizing performance, vendor models, and service delivery frameworks for resiliency, scalability and cost efficiency.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executives and business partners, offering direction rooted in Facilities Management standard processes and data insights.
  • Actively participate in company planning efforts to anticipate growth, changing asset requirements, and system infrastructure improvements.
  • Maintain strict alignment to company compliance standards, as well as Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Identify and implement standard processes for cost reduction, operational improvement, and long-term facility planning.
  • Champion cost optimization, operational resiliency, and sustainable facilities management practices
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop geographically dispersed high-performing teams with a strong focus on goal setting, performance feedback, and talent growth.
  • In-depth understanding of facility operations, asset management, preventive maintenance, and capital planning.
  • Exceptional ability in Communication, Organizing, Group Problem Solving, Teamwork, Relationship Building and Time Management both written and verbally.
  • Ability to engage effectively with partners at all levels, internal and external, including the Executive Leadership Team, and act as a strategic advisor.
  • Ability to translate business needs into system and reporting solutions.
  • Perform with a strong sense of urgency, with high expectations, around driving costs from the company P&L and best preparing Ferguson for future growth.

Preferred Education And Experience

  • 10+ years’ relevant leadership experience preferably within Real Estate and Facilities at a corporate level.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in facilities management, business management, technical facilities, or a related technical field required.
  • Experience managing/supporting multi-location industrial or retail portfolios with a focus on operational improvement.
  • Robust background in critical systems, mechanical and electrical engineering and energy management programs strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
