Department Overview

The Treasury department is integral to Walker & Dunlop’s success by ensuring adequate capital is available for our business lines. We manage cash, funding, investment portfolio, and maintain the internal controls that underpin our operations.

The Impact You Will Have

As the Assistant Vice President, Treasury Operations, you will serve as the operational leader ensuring that Walker & Dunlop’s treasury function runs with precision, transparency, and strategic alignment. Partnering closely with leadership, you will oversee day-to-day liquidity, payments, treasury technology, and banking operations while safeguarding the company’s financial assets through robust controls and compliance. Your leadership will extend beyond managing processes—you will mentor a growing team, foster a culture of accountability and innovation, and collaborate across the enterprise to optimize cash usage, enhance forecasting accuracy, and ensure seamless execution of capital flows. With your expertise in systems, banking, and operational excellence, you will play a critical role in enabling Walker & Dunlop to meet its strategic and financial objectives in a dynamic market environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Cash Management:

  • Oversee the daily cash positioning, liquidity, reconciliations, and bank reporting across entities.
  • Monitor target balances to ensure compliance with internal policy limits.
  • Drive both short- and long-term cash forecasting processes, with a focus on accuracy and variance reduction.
  • Supervise the daily wires and approve high-value payments and work with banking partners to resolve any issues as they arise.
  • Responsible for daily and weekly internal reporting that is distributed to management.
  • Serve as primary contact for all cash-related questions from both internal and external customers.
  • Banking & Relationship Management:

  • Oversee enterprise bank account governance (open/close, signatories), fee management, and service quality.
  • Review and justify current banking structure and services.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with global banking partners to ensure that all payment rails and reporting are functioning appropriately.
  • Risk, Controls & Compliance:

  • Leadership & Team Management:

  • Oversee the Treasury Management System and Bank Portal Administration.
  • Maintain and document the treasury control framework (including SOX 404) and support internal/external audits.
  • Develop and enforce operational policies, procedures, and controls in line with best practices and regulatory expectations.
  • Manage and direct Treasury team members, ensuring the achievement of departmental objectives aligned with company goals.
  • Provide leadership in the Treasury function, fostering a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and accountability.
  • Streamline operations by pinpointing inefficiencies and working with key stakeholders to enhance processes.
  • Provide transparency to executive leadership through dashboards, analytics, and key performance indicators related to treasury operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Attendance is generally required from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm local time, Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. 

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required; CTP strongly preferred (MBA/CPA/CFA a plus).
  • 7+ years of corporate treasury/cash management experience, comfort navigating a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Supervisory Experience Preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI/Tableau).
  • Experience in treasury management systems, banking and payment execution required. 

    Kyriba Experience Preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with strong work ethic to meet daily challenges of a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Writing Skills.

  • Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes.
  • Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders.

This position has an estimated base salary of $125,000 - $140,000 plus discretionary bonus. An employment offer is based on the applicant’s relevant work experience, applicable knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
