We are looking for an experienced and motivated Station Manager to lead operations at Myra Aggregation, located in Pasha, approximately 80km west of Moranbah, QLD. Spanning over 37,000 hectares, Myra is a premier backgrounding station with a carrying capacity of approximately 15,000 head.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Station Manager will play a hands-on leadership role and be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the station, ensuring the effective management of staff, safety, compliance, and the delivery of operational objectives. This includes managing resources, budgets, implementing policies, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure the station’s long-term sustainability and success.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

  • Manage and supervise the station’s daily operations, to achieve goals, ensuring high standards of performance and quality.
  • Resource management (personnel, equipment, and supplies) to ensure operational efficiency.

Safety And Compliance:

  • Ensure all operations are conducted in line with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and conduct regular training and assessments.

Staff Management:

  • Lead and motivate station staff, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Develop and mentor station staff to build a highly skilled and capable team.

Budget And Financial Management:

  • In partnership with management, manage the station’s budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and adherence to financial targets.
  • Approve purchases and expenses, ensuring fiscal responsibility.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with local communities, suppliers, government authorities, and other key stakeholders.

Reporting And Analysis:

  • Provide regular reports to senior management on the station’s performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs), operational progress and cattle performance.

Property Development:

  • In consultation with senior management plan property development.
  • Oversee and ensure property develop completed on time and budget.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an operations or management role, preferably in remote or agricultural station management.
  • Proven experience in operation planning and property development.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
