Summary:

We are seeking an Creative Writing coach to support our NDIS participants in all aspects of creative writing, screenwriting and . The ideal candidate will have a passion for creative writing and a strong desire to help the participants with their creative projects. This position requires a high level of organisation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Mandatory Outputs:

  • Planning engaging and interactive sessions tied to individual crew NDIS goals/Crank Coaching Goals.
  • Running engaging and interactive sessions with crew members (1:1 and group), focusing on their skills, goals, barriers and building a solid rapport.
  • Completing mandatory sessions notes aligning with NDIS/Crank goals, these are to be completed in allocated admin time (FT).
  • Communicating, liaising with, and scheduling 1:1 crew sessions, following-up if the crew member cancels or has patterns of non-attendance.
  • Punctual and professional conduct when in sessions or completing work.
  • Being a role-model and setting the example for crew members to follow.
  • Attending weekly team meetings and fortnightly professional development as required

Key Capabilities/Skills:

  • Organisation – Coaches must organise their session planning, session materials, bookings, and correspondence with crew members at a consistently high level, our crew members often struggle with organisation, open/consistent communication is always required.
  • Communication – Coaches need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills; you need to be able to communicate what has happened in your sessions in a written format, any crucial information regarding the crew member needs to be communicated to your direct report.
  • Creativity – You will need have diverse and engaging activities set for your designated crew members, this will need to be done creatively as to keep the sessions as engaging as possible.
  • Mandatory Reporting – In the event where you have been notified of an immediate danger to a crew members safety or wellbeing, this needs to be reflected in the session notes and your direct report to be notified as soon as possible.
  • After every session conducted, you will have to create session notes summarising activities run, skills used, and outcomes achieved. This is for both 1:1 sessions and group sessions.
  • Teamwork – Work together with your team to create meaningful sessions, outings or experiences when needed.
