About This Role
The Senior Director, Procurement will lead the organization's overall procurement strategy, overseeing the purchasing of goods and services, and managing the procurement team to ensure effective supply chain operations. This role involves strategic planning, effective cost management, and fostering supplier relationships to secure the best deals and sustain strong business partnerships. The Senior Director of Procurement will ensure that procurement policies align with the company's regulations and financial goals, aiming for sustainability and compliance in all transactions.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Strategic Procurement Management: Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies; analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
- Team Leadership and Development: Manage the procurement team, setting clear goals and expectations; assess and build the team's skills necessary for advancing procurement strategies.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Negotiate with vendors to secure advantageous terms; oversee the maintenance of all supplier contracts; ensure the adherence to agreed terms and conditions.
- Cost Control and Reduction: Implement innovative solutions for effective cost management; track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Procurement Process Optimization: Streamline procurement processes to ensure seamless operations and controls within the department; implement best practices in procurement and vendor management.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Identify and mitigate procurement risks; ensure compliance with international procurement standards and corporate governance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other department heads to ensure cohesive inter-departmental operations; align procurement resources according to company needs and market conditions.
- Technology and Systems: Lead initiatives to enhance or replace procurement technologies to support departmental activities.
Education And/Or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing a procurement department for a multinational corporation
- Experience in leading procurement initiatives that align with corporate sustainability goals.
- Strong background in procurement software and ERP systems like SAP Procurement Solutions or Oracle SCM Cloud.
- Experience in dealing with international suppliers and logistics.
- Certifications such as Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred
- Leadership Skills: Strong ability to mentor, lead and motivate a diverse and advanced team.
- Negotiation Skills: Expert level in negotiation and contract management.
- Analytical Skills: Highly developed abilities in financial analysis and decision-making.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, and procurement software.
- This job operates in a hybrid, office environment 3 days per week.

Salary Range
$185,600-$232,000The annual base salary range for this position is noted above. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and office location.
