We are seeking a Lab Operations Specialist I to support our Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Control team. The Lab Operations Specialist I will be responsible for supporting daily non-GMP lab and supply chain operations by maintaining equipment, ensuring cleanliness, managing inventory, and assisting internal teams. This hands-on role helps uphold GxP standards and provides essential on-the-floor support for both laboratory infrastructure and materials management. 

  • FLSA Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt  
  • Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Monday to Friday; On-site  
  • Reports to: Associate Manager, CMC-PD/AC 
  • Location: 13203 Murphy Road Suite 100 Stafford, TX 77477  

What You’Ll Do:

As a Lab Operations Specialist I you will play a key role in supporting our lab operations:  

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance per SOP or guidance initially. 
  • Assist with equipment service calls and vendor coordination. 
  • Maintain basic equipment logs and calibration records. 
  • Organize lab spaces and restock consumables. 
  • Support waste management and follow EH&S safety protocols. 
  • Help prepare labs for inspections, audits, and onboarding activities. 
  • Respond to temperature monitoring alarms and report to appropriate personal. 
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents, ensuring timely procurement and cost-effective purchasing. 
  • Maintain non-GMP inventory via cycle counts and electronic inventory controls  
  • Identify materials requiring replenishment and place orders with Procurement 
  • Oversee Kanban for all laboratory operations 
  • Manage material according to storage condition requirements  
  • Maintain general lab cleanliness and support with simple troubleshooting. 
  • Create Purchase Orders within the ERP system. 

Secondary Functions:

  • Assist with SOP documentation under supervision. 
  • Support installation and setup of new equipment. 
  • Participate in team meetings and safety huddles. 
  • Help manage equipment tags, labels, and storage. 
  • Dependability and initiative in task follow-through. 
  • Strong verbal communication and teamwork. 

Required Experience And Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • 0-2 years of experience in lab operations, facility support, or equipment handling (biotech/life sciences preferred). 
  • Understanding of lab safety and EH&S practices. 
  • Comfortable using electronic tracking systems and tools. 
  • Organized and detail oriented. 
  • Able to lift equipment (up to 50 lbs occasionally) and perform manual tasks. 
  • Associate’s degree or technical certification. 
  • Exposure to GxP or GLP environments. 
  • Familiarity with CMMS, basic troubleshooting, or laboratory inventory management. 
  • OSHA safety training a plus. 
  • Eagerness to learn technical skills and grow in lab support. 
  • Lab and office setting (approx. 50/50), with exposure to chemicals, equipment, and PPE requirements. 
  • Travel required: up to 15% travel required, domestically and internationally 
  • Able to lift equipment (up to 50 lbs occasionally) and perform manual tasks. 
  • Associate’s degree or technical certification.
