We are currently searching for a Part Time Patient Services Specialist to work with our OrthoCarolina Ballantyne Orthopedic Urgent Care team. This schedule for this position is Thursdays and Fridays from 5:30pm-9:00pm and Sundays from 10:00am-2:00pm.
The Patient Services Specialist greets patients, prepares forms, collects, verifies and enters patient information into EPIC necessary for the timely and accurate processing of patient claims.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares paperwork necessary for the patient visit.
- Answers incoming phone calls and directs calls, makes appointments, performs Cashier duties as directed including posting of charges,
- Collection of co-payments/co-insurance and balances due.
- Follows the process for release of medical information and FMLA/disability forms completion as requested.
Skills And Abilities:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Working knowledge of insurance
- Epic/EMR background a plus
Medical Terminology
Qualifications:
- High school graduate and/or associate or bachelor's degree
- Prefer minimum of one year experience in medical clinic setting.
