From pre-clinical investigations to full-scale commercial GMP production, we play a crucial role in producing life-saving medicines for patients with critical needs across the globe.

At FUJIFILM Denmark, the culture is paramount. Beyond a competitive salary and bonus package, we offer comprehensive health insurance, massage and physiotherapy services, health checks, fitness center access, and remote working options. About QC Chemistry Department

The QC Chemistry department is dynamic and diverse, comprising over 35 passionate employees—including analysts, scientists, students, and a leadership team. We are organized into three teams that globally support the release of Drug Substances, Drug Products, and Finished Goods for our clients. Our varied methods include CE-SDS, ICE, SDS-page, HPLC/UPLC, Appearance, pH, Osmolality, and SoloVPE/UV. We also assist Drug Substance manufacturing by validating TOC changeovers, cleaning testing, and gas (CO2, O2, N2) and water analysis. A crucial department focus involves method transfers, validation, and qualification due to the site expansion alongside the establishment of a Drug Product Manufacturing facility for producing drug products.

Navigating a broad spectrum of methods—from the simple to the complex—and handling new client integrations, instrument acquisitions, legacy product testing, and stability assessments keeps us consistently evolving. Our operations include qualification of controls and reference standards, handling deviations, CAPAs, assays, OOS, Change Controls, and more, all essential for delivering commercial products globally.

Role Overview

At FUJIFILM Life Science Biotechnologies Denmark, you’ll onboard new clients and products, establish networks across QC and FLBD, back our site expansion project, and explore innovative paths to streamline complex daily tasks.

As an Associate Manager within one of the three QC Chemistry teams, you’ll lead a dedicated group of 12 analysts. Collaborating with two Associate Managers, you’ll provide comprehensive leadership across QC Chemistry, ensuring alignment with core values—trust, delight, Gemba (go see), and Genki (enthusiasm). Our organizational expansion over the next two years anticipates tripling DS manufacturing and introducing a new DP manufacturing facility at Hillerød.

Reporting directly to the Associate Director of QC Chemistry, you'll become an integral member of the QC management team.

Primary Responsibilities

Your key tasks will include leading and developing your team, establishing direction and structure, fostering motivation, and prioritizing tasks. You’ll manage growth, ensure team competencies, encourage cross-training for task flexibility, and fulfill client agreements. Building efficient, high-performing teams across QC and challenging the status quo to drive continuous improvement are crucial elements. Maintaining quality, cGMP compliance, and meeting KPIs, along with ensuring a proactive, safety-first work environment, are also essential.

Professional and Personal Qualifications

We seek a people-centric manager with extensive dedication who thrives on teamwork. This role requires operational excellence, technical expertise in QC Chemistry, and the ability to act as a sparring partner on various subjects. Experience in people management, operational excellence, and Lean methodologies is advantageous.

Your persona should embody openness, curiosity, and a collaborative spirit, greeting challenges with a smile and a can-do attitude. Balancing humility and respect for peers while adopting a pragmatic approach to solutions will foster success. Agility in shifting priorities and working within a dynamic, ever-evolving environment is essential.

An academic degree in Pharma, engineering, or related fields, alongside GMP and QC laboratory experience, is preferred. Exceptional English communication skills are necessary as we operate in a global setting.
