Sales (SA) covers end-to-end sales to customers and advocates customer intimacy. Comprises selling of products, services and solutions, and building and maintaining relationships with customers and potential customers. Contains management of customers, partners, and accounts while focusing either on a specific target group, specific products, services, solutions, or a territory.Note: population would be under the sales incentive plan.

Subfamily Description

Account & Cust. Relatnshp Mgmt-CSP (RMC) comprises the creation and development of profitable relations with customers (incl. multi-geographic customer businesses) or new businesses through direct customer interface for a profiled customer base by implementing a strategy for a specified customer account, products, services, or solutions. Contains management of customer interactions and driving of sales for Nokia's offering. Covers creation of sales channels to grow new businesses in completely new prospects / markets and / or existing accounts targeting new revenue streams. Contains conduction of end-to-end business management (sales and delivery) for all customers and opportunities within the responsible scope.



• Accountable for sales and business performance of a significant cluster of countries.

• Manages and grows business by prioritising short-term and long-term opportunities with hunting and farming sales capabilities within the responsible geography, leveraging Nokia's end-to-end portfolio.

• Interfaces with customer executives and manages escalations on significant business issues.

• Manages a large sales team consisting of several CTs, CBTs and / or accounts.

• Accountable for P&L, contribution, cash, assets, etc. on consolidated account view.

• Defines sales strategy to address internal or external business and regulatory issues in own unit, and influences strategic decisions beyond own unit that significantly affect the performance of broader organisation.

• Applies professional expertise, profound knowledge of the market, competition and / or commercial environment to create long-term business impact and increase organisational capability.

• Proactively identifies and solves the most complex problems and thinks beyond existing solutions to create sustainable competitive advantage.

• Ensures strong alignment of directions between relevant organisational units.

• Drives thought leadership, the shaping of functional strategy and senior management advice within the area of expertise, typically with global, sometimes organisation wide leverage.

• Leads and coaches various functions to achieve business targets, often highly visible, high impact multidisciplinary projects or initiatives.

Significant strategic impact on business results through decisions. Impact is medium and long term. Accountable for setting unit targets and operational results including profit and loss. Decisions and actions will normally impact business results outside own unit/area.

Individual Contributor: Individual contributor roles as this level typically participate in strategy planning and support or provide critical expertise in strategically important subject area. Directly influences development of a Business Unit, large geography or global business strategy. Knowledge basis of industry & commerce interrelationship & legislation. Will normally be a recognized global expert in area of specialty. Managerial/Supervisory: Typically third (occasionally second) level of solid line management. Directly contributes to and influences direction, policy and strategy of a Business Unit, large geography or global business strategy. Determines resource allocation. Determines an operational framework. Makes final decisions on operational matters. Decisions based on intuition, creativity and judgment. Typical scopes: Business Unit, large geography or global function. Complex combination of functions, running large product or operations divisions.

High degree of independence - generally influences policies, targets and budgets. Provides direction and sets expectations for creation of new business opportunities. Develops ideas and strategies for building businesses and solutions. Extensively analyse complex multi-dimensional issues and significantly improve, change or adapt existing methods and techniques. Identifies need for change, adapts swiftly and is an effective leader of change.

Communication

Operates at the senior level of the business effectively with a global mindset and in many different environments (e.g. outside of home country, new business unit/entity, different cultures).Frequently negotiates and compromises to influence internal and external parties who may have conflicting objectives to accept concepts, practices and approaches.Requires ability to communicate with senior executive leadership ( internal / external) regarding matters of strategic importance to the organisation using highly complex arguments.

Knowledge & Experience

Broad management experience across several functional areas or businesses, or concentrated knowledge of a particular discipline.Command of content and purpose of several functions. Can develop relevant and creative solutions to meet current and evolving business needs. May be internally & externally recognised, leading authority in the field. Typically requires >12 years extensive relevant experience and/or a graduate / postgraduate equivalent degree. PhD degree would normally be expected in R&D stream.
