The University of Maine System (UMS) is seeking an experienced and collaborative ERP Development Team Lead – Human Resources to guide a team of developers supporting enterprise systems that are critical to advancing the mission, goals, and operations of the university.

As the ERP Development Team Lead, you will oversee the Human Resources ERP Development team, providing leadership, technical expertise, and direction on projects ranging from focused solutions to complex, high-impact systems. You will play a pivotal role in creating and maintaining an environment of excellence by driving best practices, standards, and processes across the team.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of leadership and technology, with the ability to inspire and guide staff, collaborate across the university, and deliver solutions that enhance efficiency, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, assign, and direct ERP development staff, ensuring timely progress and high-quality results.
  • Develop and implement best practices, tools, and methodologies for ERP software development.
  • Monitor and resolve escalated Human Resources ERP system issues, managing priorities and team assignments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across UMS to plan projects, define scope, and communicate progress.
  • Supervisor, coach, and mentor professional staff to support growth and performance.
  • Participate in IT governance groups and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Assist in evaluating platforms, systems, and tools; contribute to funding proposals for initiatives.

Salary: The salary range for this position is $76,000 to $86,000, commensurate with the candidate's training, education, and experience.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST, with flexibility available as mutually agreed upon between the supervisor and employee. 

This position is fully remote. Applicants must reside in the United States. Please review the University Guidelines for Remote Work.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Solid foundation in Computer Science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and ERP software design.
  • Knowledge of software development principles, practices, and methodologies within the ERP realm.
  • Knowledge of the principles and methods of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Knowledge of the principles used in the design and development of information systems, including layered and distributed architecture models.
  • Knowledge of software testing methods such as unit testing and regression analysis.
  • Knowledge of major software security concerns. 
  • Ability to organize, lead, and inspire others toward producing results. 
  • Ability to organize work, assign and direct staff, set goals and priorities, and evaluate staff performance.
  • Ability to identify problems and determine short and long-term resolutions.
  • Ability to coordinate with others to monitor progress, accomplish goals, and evaluate outcomes. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in software design and development for complex, multi-user software systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing ERP developers.
  • Experience in software development and support in a PeopleSoft environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience in software development in a higher education or comparable environment.
  • Experience in support, configuration, and security of Oracle Cloud HCM
  • Experience in developing integrations using Boomi iPaas.
