Description

The Department of Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine and the West Haven Veterans Affairs is currently seeking a Physician Chief of Surgical Services to join our faculty with a coterminous Yale appointment.  Applications are invited for the position of Associate Professor or Professor of Surgery level commensurate with qualifications and experience.  

Primary responsibilities will include providing leadership to 14 VA Surgical specialties, ensuring quality & safety of clinical care, and providing faculty development and mentorship. In addition, the Chief of Surgical Services will oversee educational programs, and actively identify and foster opportunities for research.  Applicants should expect to work in a friendly environment with collegial and supportive administration.
