Position Summary:
The Director of HRIT Applications will provide the strategic oversight, implementation, and management of Hartford Healthcare’s Human Resource’s technology systems. The Director will lead the transformation and ongoing management of the HR technology ecosystem by building and leading a unified team that delivers comprehensive support for all HR technology platforms and services across the organization.
Key Accountabilities:
- Define and execute the HR technology roadmap in alignment with enterprise IT and HR strategies. Act as a key liaison between HR, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency
- Lead the transition from legacy on-premises systems (e.g., PeopleSoft) to modern SaaS platforms (e.g., Workday, Oracle Cloud)
- Oversee the ongoing support, maintenance, and optimization of current on-premises HR systems, including PeopleSoft HCM
- Manage system patches, upgrades, and enhancements in collaboration with IT infrastructure and application teams
- Ensure system reliability, performance, and compliance while planning for phased decommissioning as SaaS adoption progresses
- Manage a cross-functional team of HRIT professionals including analysts, developers, architects, and system administrators. Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Establish governance, standards, and best practices for system configuration, integration, and support
- Oversee the implementation, configuration, and optimization of SaaS HR platforms. Manage system upgrades, patching, and release cycles
- Ensure seamless integration between HR systems and other enterprise applications (e.g., payroll, finance, timekeeping)
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with healthcare and HR regulations (e.g., HIPAA, SOX)
- Lead the development of advanced analytics and reporting capabilities to support strategic workforce planning
- Manage relationships with SaaS vendors and implementation partners. Negotiate contracts, monitor SLAs, and ensure vendor accountability
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Ten plus years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resource’s technology
- Five plus years of direct experience with ERP SaaS HCM platforms such as Workday and/or Oracle Cloud HCM, including implementation, optimization, and support
- Direct experience in both on-premises systems (e.g., PeopleSoft) and cloud-based SaaS platforms (e.g., Workday, Oracle Cloud HCM), with a proven track record of leading large-scale transitions in complex highly regulated environments, preferably within healthcare
- Deep understanding of HR business processes and enterprise IT architecture
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with experience managing cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills
- Proven ability to drive digital transformation and organizational change
