Job Summary: Responsible for the development of Annual Sales, Profit, Expense, and Payroll Budgets for NEX Field Activities, District Admin Centers, and Code N (Store Operations) Branches. Works in conjunction with NEX’s and Districts to implement programs to control and reduce operating payroll and expenses while maximizing customer service and operational performance. Duties involve a substantial amount of research, analysis, and understanding of store operations. Reports to Vice President, Store Operations.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Develops annual sales, profit, expense, and payroll budgets for NEX Field Activities and operating budgets for District Admin Centers and Code N HQ.
  • Oversee workforce management best practices and develop appropriate recommendations to improve demand forecasting, capacity planning, and employee productivity.
  • Applies Knowledge of Field Activities and operating budgets to analyze monthly financial results. Identify trends, potential opportunities, and risks, working with the field or Merchandising Financial Planning team to develop a plan of action and new projections.
  • Monitors financial performance on store projections and communicates the analysis. Produces YTD Exception Reports for DVPs, General Managers, and HQ's Senior Leaders that drive corrective action for underperforming districts/stores worldwide.
  • Prepares communication to the field related to sales, profit, or operating expenses. As an SME, responds to all inquiries from the Field/HQ leadership.
  • Responsible for the training and development of 2-3 analysts. Schedules work, prepares performance reviews, selects, approves, and /or recommends associate hiring/promotions and other personnel actions.
  • Works directly with each District Financial Analyst in reviewing/adjusting Retail Sales forecast based on trend or unplanned events that ensure proper leveraging of payroll hours aligned with current sales trends.
  • Provides guidance/ training to each District Financial Analyst regarding Budget Planning and Analysis, including future cornerstone goals.
  • Oversee the development of exception and analysis reports for stores/districts.
  • Develop, revise, and update the Payroll Control Spreadsheet. Provide store training on spreadsheets to ensure optimization of NEX labor for all field activities.
  • Performs in the capacity of NEXMART Program Manager.
  • Acts as Chairperson of Crisis Action Team (CAT) during the absence of the Chairperson. Responsible for the readiness of the CAT phone pool.
  • Works under general supervision and exercises a high degree of independence in making decisions.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

The incumbent of this position must file a Financial Disclosure Report (OGE) Form 450, as required.

 

A total of 8 years of experience, consisting of the following:

General Experience: Three years of experience in retail and/or services technical or administrative work that demonstrated the abilities, competencies, and aptitudes required to perform technical, managerial, and analytical work involving business analysis, budgeting, and program management; skill in working in collaborative work relationships across cross functional teams; and the ability to exercise mature judgement

Or Substitution of education for experience: One year of academic study above the high school level in a related field may be substituted for 9 months of experience, up to a maximum of a 4-year bachelor's degree for 3 years of general experience

And  Specialized Experience: Five years of progressively responsible experience that provided a background in retail, services, and/or financial budgeting.  Specific experience in operations management, analysis, review, or responsibility of financial budgets; inventory management practices and procedures; development and evaluation of operational objectives and expense control programs; or similar work that demonstrated the knowledge and ability to perform the work of the position.
