Our target project opportunities include Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and Wind Projects, as well as Hydrogen and Ammonia projects.
The UGL New Energy team is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer – Wind to join our energy team.

ABOUT THE POSITION ON OFFER
As part of your role, you will lead the conceptual and detailed engineering of utility-scale wind projects. This includes developing design specifications, overseeing design integration and collaborating with management and UGL clients to resolve any engineering concerns that may arise.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Leading the planning and delivery of wind farm design packages across all project stages.
- Providing technical expertise and guidance on wind turbine technology, grid connection requirements, electrical systems and civil balance of plant works.
- Managing technical interfaces between disciplines on wind farm projects.
- Supporting tender and project cost forecasting, constructability reviews and schedule development.
- Reviewing turbine supplier documentation and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Providing commissioning input and supporting site activities during project execution.
- Mentoring junior engineers and fostering knowledge sharing across the team.
Your Skills And Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Renewable Energy or related field.
- Bringing extensive experience in utility scale wind farm projects, including design and delivery.
- Strong knowledge of wind turbine technology, grid connection requirements and balance of plant works.
- Skilled in industry-standard design and analysis tools for wind projects.
- Known for strong analytical thinking, effective problem-solving, and clear communication.
- Comfortable working collaboratively in diverse teams, managing multiple projects, and maintaining a strategic focus.
- Open to travel for site-based work as needed.
