Job Purpose

The Director Automotive applies deep industry expertise to enhance the organisation’s leadership in the automotive logistics sector. This role will be responsible for designing and delivering tailored supply chain solutions, collaborating with sales, marketing, and operations on strategic initiatives, and ensuring seamless execution that meets the sector’s complex requirements. As a key industry representative, the Director cultivates strong relationships with OEMs, suppliers, and stakeholders while driving growth, innovation, and market differentiation. We currently have a permanent full-time opportunity available, located in Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with customers, sales, and marketing teams to design and deliver tailored automotive supply chain solutions.
  • Oversee deployment of vertical-specific solutions, monitor KPIs, and resolve issues to ensure service excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Act as an industry expert and escalation point, identifying service gaps, optimising processes, and strengthening long-term customer relationships.
  • Drive business development by identifying new opportunities, supporting product innovation, and analysing performance to optimise revenue and margin growth.
  • Provide subject matter knowledge for bids, tenders, and solution design, while advising internal teams and mentoring colleagues across the business.
  • Build networks with OEMs, suppliers, and industry groups, monitoring trends and competitors to stay ahead.

Qualifications, Skills And Experience Required:

  • 10+ years in Sales, Commercial, KAM or Senior Supply Chain Management roles in logistics.
  • Experience in the automotive vertical in freight forwarding and/or supply chain management roles.
  • Experience in developing customer relationships with a high retention rate.
  • Excellent consultative commercial and relationship management.
  • Experience in driving and developing relationships.
