Job Purpose:

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), networking, security (IAM), and cloud monitoring. 

A Cloud Engineer’s responsibilities include deploying and debugging systems, as well as executing new cloud initiatives, you will work with different IT professionals and teams to ensure our cloud computing systems meet the needs of our organization and customers.

Job Details:

• Location: 100% Remote - Open to candidates based in Central America, Mexico, or Colombia.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CR Time Zone
• Job Type: Full-Time Employment
• Language Proficiency: Spanish: Advanced (Fluent) / English: C1 in reading, writing, and conversation
• Availability: Immediate availability is preferible

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Architecture: Develop and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures on GCP.
• Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard cloud infrastructure.
• Cloud Infrastructure Management: Deploy, manage, and monitor cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Automation: Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
• Configure and optimize IAM, networking, VPC, and Cloud Monitoring to enhance security and performance.
• Deploy and manage workloads on GKE, Cloud Run, and Cloud Storage.
• Implement and refine CI/CD pipelines for automated, efficient deployments.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
• Continuously assess and improve existing systems, recommending optimizations where necessary.
• Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and offer tailored recommendations based on their needs.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot cloud-based services to ensure reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security best practices are followed.

Required Academic Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Required Skills And Experience:

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in cloud engineering, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Extensive experience with GCP services, including but not limited to Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, and Kubernetes Engine.
• Proficient in automation and configuration management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and experience implementing them in a production environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• GCP certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus.
• Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and offer tailored recommendations based on their needs.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot cloud-based services to ensure reliability and efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with Wiz cloud monitoring
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of networking concepts and technologies related to cloud infrastructure.
