Job Description
SIXT Australia is on the lookout for a Full Time Senior Financial Accountant based in Sydney. This is a hybrid opportunity working from home and our office, centrally located at Barrack Place.
As the Senior Financial Accountant at SIXT, you will be at the heart of our finance team - managing essential financial processes, ensuring compliance, and delivering accurate, insightful reporting that empowers strategic decision-making. As a motivated self-starter, you’ll take the lead in month-end and year-end close, provide robust financial analysis, and serve as a key contact for external auditors. With a passion for continuous improvement, you’ll drive enhancements in our processes and champion a culture of efficiency and innovation within the finance function.
Your role at SIXT
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting for allocated GL areas of responsibility.
- Support the commercial finance team with journal posting.
- Maintain robust balance sheet reconciliations and deliver monthly divisional balance sheet/cashflow inputs and commentary in accordance with NRMA Group requirements.
- Prepare all tax-related compliance including GST, FBT, and income tax for NRMA Group reporting.
- Calculate and process commission calculations and analysis for the Sales team.
- Perform key cash-related controls including journals and regular bank reconciliations.
- Maintain support for key controls including accurate work papers for internal and external audit requirements; liaise with auditors as required.
- Identify and lead the delivery of improvements in financial reporting related activities for SIXT, with a focus on automation and leveraging information systems.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement in the finance function.

Your Skills Matter
To be successful in the role, you will:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant finance discipline, including CA or CPA.
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong skills in Excel; proficiency across a range of MS suite platforms and other reporting systems and tools.
- NetSuite experience highly regarded.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
