Key Responsibilities & Tasks

The Partner Delivery Management (PDM) Expert is focused on customer success by facilitating SAP software deployments via the partner ecosystem. PDMs manage partner delivery related activities across the entire lifecycle of our customers, largely by facilitating successful deployments of the SAP Business Suite of Solutions

The main focus of this position is to ensure delivery quality of SAP’s ecosystem in areas aligned to SAP’s strategy. In this context, the PDM Expert is the central advisor to the partner, owning the post-sales partner relationship and is responsible for coordinating all SAP interactions (with PES, CS&D, Product Support, CSM Team, Product Engineering, among others), engaging with local stakeholders to ensure operational excellence, position the added value of the partner ecosystem and the PDM team, guiding partners in building and expanding their cloud delivery organizations, driving a structured engagement to accelerate partner investments in capacity & quality, whilst identifying partner competency gaps and recommending relevant training and enablement activities.

Main Responsibilities

Business Planning / Strategy for the respective area in alignment with PBMs

Ensures development of the annual partner business planning based on strategic focus of the partner as well as SAP. Major dimensions covered by the PDM are driving Adoption & Consumption of the key Business Suite solutions, Partner delivery capacity planning, monitors Time-to-Go-Live, ensuring that SAP systems like HPI are UpToDate on Project status, AI and SAP Tool chain adoption, Partner Competency Development (planned certified consultants) and focus on critical areas for the partner to be successful in delivery.

Monitors and validates partner capacity, readiness, and delivery capabilities as per defined business plan. Identifies appropriate measures to ensure partner goals are on track or corrective action is taken.

Accountable for the partner delivery quality of their managed partners in a given region/MU and run Quarterly Adoption & Consumption QBRs with SAP Partners.

Strong understanding of RISE Adoption Framework (for RISE with SAP PDMs) and Clean Core Principles.

Strong understanding of SAP Activate Methodology, ERP Project Management and Project Governance related processes

Strong connections with Internal and External Stakeholders to handle Escalations and resolve them in a timely manner.

Strategic Value and operational excellence

Drive partner investment by advising on enablement plans and proactively identify areas for improvement based on observed competency gaps to ensure quality partner resource availability.

Ensures reporting on capacity, certifications and go-live progress against targets agreed and initiates corrective actions as required.

Assess strengths and opportunities of partner business on a constant basis, aligning with SAP's business aspirations. Recommends actions & next steps to SAP’s stakeholders accordingly.

Improves delivery efficiency by identify trends in the partner landscape and coordinates with relevant stakeholders to produce enablement, ensuring the right content and knowledge is delivered as required, and that skills are developed in line with joint business plans.

Understands future opportunities for mutual business expansion covering all relevant areas (solution development, industry-focus, regional focus, etc.) in collaboration with PBMs. Drives corresponding initiatives (mid- / long-term) from SAP-side which help to expand the business for both parties.

Maintains detailed information on their assigned partners’ projects and regularly reviewing project health, including ensuring assigned resources are certified and current. Provides visibility of projects to internal stakeholders.

Conducts Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with the assigned partners to assess performance and progress on agreed action items, owning associated KPIs.

Covers escalations in their area of responsibility.

Ensures that lessons learned, knowledge, knowhow and best practices gained on projects are accessible to authorized partners to support successful customer outcomes

Experience and Education Requirements

Experience & Language Requirements

Minimum 10+ years’ experience in the software industry or in a partner facing role (Partner management, sales, consulting, etc.).

Strong Communication Skills preferred

Leadership skills in terms of Problem solving by strong collaboration with internal & external stakeholders

Demonstrated partnering and consulting skills

Understanding the principles of cloud solution delivery through partners, including Fit2Standard

Knowledge of cloud service offerings

Local market knowledge and understanding (software industry, trends, vertical market industries, etc.) as well as of the System Integrator ecosystem

Knowledge and understanding of Partner dynamics

Planning and execution experience in driving activity forecasting, resource management and enablement with partners

Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of internal and external stakeholders both verbally and in writing

Strong Analytical Competencies

Ability to manage partner and customer escalations in a diligent manner

Capacity to work accurately on multiple tasks with multidisciplinary teams

Business Level English

Education

Bachelor Equivalent In Engineering:

Master equivalent: preferred

MBA/PhD: preferred
