Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8, $113,574 to $125,720 pa plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your Role
The Project Officer is a key contributor within the Department of Communities and Justice, supporting the delivery of infrastructure and asset-related initiatives that enhance community resilience and emergency coordination. This role sits within Corporate Services and directly supports the department’s mission to safeguard vulnerable communities and ensure continuity of essential services during critical events.
What You’Ll Do
In this role, the Project Officer manages and supports projects that strengthen emergency preparedness and infrastructure resilience. Daily tasks include developing project documentation, coordinating resources, preparing reports and briefings, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, adaptability in high-pressure situations, and a strong understanding of emergency coordination frameworks.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative and purpose-driven team within the Infrastructure & Assets unit, based in Parramatta. What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate is a resilient and detail-oriented professional with experience in emergency management, business continuity, or infrastructure-related project delivery. They hold relevant qualifications in these areas and bring strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills. The ability to remain composed and effective during emergencies, combined with a solid understanding of government processes and project coordination, will be key to success in this role.
